[Opening narration] Oscar Goldman: Steve Austin, astronaut. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.
Many of his damaged parts are replaced by experimental bionic limbs, including his right arm, his left eye, and both legs. These bionics give him superpowers such as increased speed and strength and the ability to see long distances. To pay the U.S. Government back the $6,000,000 it cost to rebuild him, Austin goes to work for the Office of Scientific Investigation as an agent, investigating foreign spies, mad scientists, bombers, space aliens, and even Bigfoot.

Here's another one you might remember:
Police Story
Police Story was an anthology series that ran on NBC from 1973 to 1977. It was created by Joseph Wambaugh and was regarded, along with Adam-12, as one of the most realistic crime dramas of the day. The show won an Emmy and two Edgar Awards from the Mystery Writers of America. One episode, "The Gamble," was made into the spin-off Police Woman. With its anthology format, the show was able to star several well-known character actors as various police officers. In later seasons the show became a series of TV movies.
