RALEIGH, N.C. - Elizabeth Edwards says she is scared of the "rabid, rabid Republican" who owns property across the street from her Orange County home - and she doesn't want her kids going near the gun-toting neighbor.
Edwards, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, particularly recalls the time neighbor Monty Johnson brought out a gun while chasing workers investigating a right of way off his property. The Edwards family has yet to meet Johnson in person.
"I wouldn't be nice to him anyway," Edwards said in an interview. "I don't want my kids anywhere near some guy who when he doesn't like somebody, the first thing he does is pull a gun out. It scares the business out of me."

She has also made claims about the irresponsible use of a firearm. I wonder where she is getting this information from?
Rabid democrats have extra foam?
more tea and sympathy, please...
Targets.
Of course she only is “afraid” of republicans, the rest of the loons agree with her and it’s OK for them to own guns. It’s the good for me but not thee thing.
Sounds like the Edwards are using “hate speech”.
Whatever, Elizabeth.
“I thought he was supposed to be for the poor people,” Johnson said. “But does he ever socialize with any poor people? He doesn’t speak to me.”
^^
Nope. For the Rats, poor people are good only for their votes.
It seems to me that by definition, it is impossible to be both “rabid” and “Republican.” Rabid moonbat? Certainly.
28,000 sq ft? It must make al-Gore’s carbon footprint look tiny. Is anyone else tired of limo libs?
OOOOGA BOOOGA! That mean-old Republican is going to eat the kids!
A. How does she know he didn’t “like” the people in question?
B. How does she know it was the first thing he did.
C. Maybe the trespassers were working for the Edwards.
D. Like it or not Mrs. slandering lawyer this man has a right to own a firearm & protect his property.
E. Do you really have cancer? After reading this article I’m starting to have my doubts.
F. Are you a rabid anti-gun limousine liberal?
Assuming that he has a good name in the community to begin with, her statement implying that he is the type who would shoot first and ask questions later would certainly be injurious to his standing in the community. I’d say he has the elements of a case.
If someone is trespassing, having the gun handy when you confront them is what we country folk call smart. Of course the Edwards’ favorite course of action is to sue you.
G. In which America is this house located?
Sounds like they need to speed up construction on that little house they’re building. Doesn’t look like there will be any neighbors close enough to worry about. Otherwise they can just move. It’s not like they can’t afford it.
That’s the ticket I’m hoping for!
