Democrats at War [“Prime Minister Pelosi... ”]
WSJ ^ | April 6, 2007 | Editorial

Democrats took Congress last fall in part by opposing the war in Iraq, but it is becoming clear that they view their election as a mandate for something far more ambitious--to wit, promoting and executing their own foreign policy, albeit without the detail of a Presidential election.

Their intentions were made plain this week with two remarkable acts by their House and Senate leaders. Majority Leader Harry Reid endorsed Senator Russ Feingold's proposal to withdraw from Iraq immediately, cutting off funds entirely within a year. He promised a vote soon, as part of what the Washington Post reported would also be a Democratic offensive to close Guantanamo, reinstate legal rights for terror suspects, and improve relations with Cuba.

You of course know what the word Pelosi means in Italian: The one with a hairy body.

It might be that it should be changed to the one with the body given to the Islamic terrorist.

The country may not have had a good idea about who Pelosi was before the election but they’re getting a real good look now.

Once we leave Iraq, America's enemies will still reside in the Mideast; and they will be stronger if we leave behind a failed government and bloodbath in Iraq. Mr. Bush's successor will have to contain the damage, and that person could even be a Democrat. But by reverting to their Vietnam message of retreat and by blaming Mr. Bush for all the world's ills, Democrats on Capitol Hill may once again convince voters that they can't be trusted with the White House in a dangerous world.

Anyone who isn't coninced by now that Democrats can't be trusted in the White House (or in Congress) has been getting their news from Comedy Central.

It certainly may be treason, depending on what they do with these terrorists; it is at the very least a total misapplication of the Constitution.

No where in Article I is there any place for Congress to have a foreign policy. This could come back and bite them. Especially if there’s another attack.

There won't be another attack.

Islamic terrorists will not do anything to jeopardize Democrats not only retaining congressional power, but taking the White House in 2008.

The Islamic Nazis know that if they can just get the rats into complete power, there will be plenty of time to launch attacks then, with no consequences for those attacks.

Al-Qaeda got the congress they wanted in 2006- they will work diligently over the next eighteen months to again do their part to get the rats entrenched in power so that they can then resume their plan to destroy America, and then Israel.

With no repercussions.

If ‘Rats can trash the constitution by placing constructionist judges in the courts, then the next step would be to trash the constitution by just acting as if it does not exist.

It is treason. Why can’t the administration take these efforts before the Supreme court and have them ruled out of order. The Congress appears to be, in affect, doing away with the presidency.

The Logan Act of 1799:

Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

Why isn't Pelosi facing Federal charges? Why aren't Kerry, both Clintons, and a host of other self appointed American citizen "alternative diplomacy" gurus who have met or are meeting with foreign states with whom we have determined to be belligerents and sponsors of terrorism, in jail? Why isn't Berger in prison for stealing classified documents? Where is the DOJ?

THAT is an excellent analysis. A sad omen - but you hit the nail square on the head.

From what I’ve heard(it may be wrong)... members of Congress are exempt from the Logan Act.

We have an alternative Democratic foreign policy.

Rep. Tom Lantos From their own lips...

Add into the equation Bill Richardson's frequent trips to North Korea.

All of these types of trips by the Dems are being made so that they can say to the voters, in 2008, that they are the ones to lead the U.S. re: foreign policy.

The problem the Dems and MSM now face is that Pelosi blew it.

Now you know why Pelosi wanted a larger plane even though the one she was given could reach the west coast easily without refueling. She was thinking ahead. She wanted something with global reach and room for an entourage.

If I was Bush, I'd have the damn thing repainted in big bold letters : SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE and CALIFORNIA CONGRESSMAN and remove every reference to UNITED STATES of AMERICA from the outside.

Its still amazing to me. That Ted Kennedy still sits in the Senate when he openly negotiated with the Russians against the interests of the United States. Folks, these people, like Iran have never had to pay a price, for Treason, for kidnapping, for any outrage. So why would you expect they would avoid it?

What about Kerry. The Swift Boat Vets bared it all and still, we have just seen a yawn. Kerry was negotiating with the North Vietnamese during the Peace talks then leading an anti-war movement at home that gave South Vietnam to the Communists. Hey, if that isn't actionable, then a little thing like talking with baby Assad is nothing.

They were hired by Clinton and cannot legally be fired by Bush. Don't you read the newspapers! Dear one, we are planning to fire the Attorney General for letting go of eight of the most incompetent biased AG's and it has become a scandal to rock the White House.

Why, because heck half of the Dems would be up on charges if they really had to watch out for the Law. Only Republicans are subject to prosecution. Ask Tom DeLay. Ousted by on trumped up charges by a glory hound state prosecutor, because the Republicans believe in a double standard too.. They call it a higher standard.

But in point of fact, it means that a Child Molester is applauded by the Democrats in the House while a creepy Republican Rep, who nevertheless seems to have followed the law to the letter, drags the whole party out of the House. Its a world where a California Republican Rep who betrayed his country for a few dollars sits in Jail but a Democrat Rep who was caught years ago with $90,000 in marked cash from a bribe in his refrigerator was seriously considered for a major Democrat Committee Chair.

If Republicans every woke up they would cry, "NO MORE DOUBLE STANDARD!!!!!"
