Mitt Romney is riding high this week after his victory in "the first primary," which consists of raising cold, hard cash to compete: more than $20 million in the first quarter, $5 million more than his closest contender, Rudy "Lay off my wife!" Giuliani. John McCain came in a lackluster third with $12.5 million.
Romney's campaign benefited from two distinct donor networks, according to media accounts: Wall Street and Mormons. GOP front-runner Rudy, struggling with one of those weird media freak shows erupting around his wife, Judith (her alleged participation in future Cabinet meetings and former puppy killings), must be a little envious on both counts.
Why is it that all the Dem candidates are still married to their first spouse, while among the current crop of leading GOP contenders, the only guy with just one wife is the Mormon?
Truth is, I don't think this is just an accident. There's something about Mormons the rest of us ought to pay attention to: Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do much better than almost any other faith group at sustaining a marriage culture -- and they do this while participating fully and successfully in modern life. Utah is above the national average in both household income and the proportion of adults who are college graduates.

Romney is no more attempting to force his faith upon Americans by seeking the presidency than Kennedy was atttempting to foist Catholicism upon our nation. Really, it's laughable. I suggest we stop all this nonsense.
To what are you referring to, that might be “accidental” or purposeful?( and if you mean purposeful, to what purpose do you mean? etc.

I have proof that he is not honest. He said he was a practiced hunter his whole life. And yet we discover today that he only hunted two times in his life.
He’s also not being honest about his positions on important issues.
He is being deceitful. Do you consider that to be honesty?
This is getting quite a ways from whether a Mormon should be president or not.
I will not endeavor to make conjecture on the nature of “matter or life” here.
But, I’ll stick with what I said earlier, “ Those who want to believe in supernatural forces, the burden is on them to show how they work.”
To me a rite like baptism by immersion is replete with deep meaning. Similarly temple worship is also heavily infused with many teachings but they are basically the same teachings we teach in our public meetings. If you ever talk to the LDS missionaries or attend our services, what you will find is that what we talk about there is the same things we learn there. The major difference is that we believe that every temple worthy lay member must live in some respects like a priest, and similar to a priest in other faiths, the temple is the vehicle where we aspire to live up to these priest like ideals.
With that picture in your mind can you imagine how distasteful it is to rant on about other faiths and their clergyman? Many clergyman, rabbis, etc. wear symbolic religious attire, but yet they are not mocked. Also, imagine how distasteful it sounds if the rites and practices of holy men of other faiths were routinely mocked in the public square. Is this not a double standard then for the treatment of my faith?
Anyway, a very strong point for keeping our personal worship private is that it forces the temple worshiper to figure it out things for him or herself. It forces the worshiper to find references which jump out in the Bible relating to the teachings. And it is great way for the worshiper to rely on prayer and build a relationship with God and Jesus Christ to help understand. I am amazed how much more deeper I learn about God and Jesus Christ every time I attend. To me the things I keep private are pearls of wisdom which Jesus Christ said not to throw away casually, lest they be trampled.
I see your point, but I am simply stating that he may not be as pure and wholesome as some people think. I’m just saying that even though he may appear that way, we should look at the man’s actions in government. He has been a supporter of the liberal agenda for decades. He’s even admitted that he’s suddenly (i.e. run for the Presidency) changed his viewpoints on abortion, etc.
How can anyone dismiss his past actions and think that this guy is genuine? Honestly, I just don’t understand how that happens.
What one considers to be "cult" is really a matter of outlook and values.

It’s a route answer which he has given before many, many times. Previously, he would state that he hunted “infrequently” during the course of his life. He just muffed it and dropped that one word “infrequently”.

If not, then why not? If so, then please enlighten us on how you went about removing your name? And why did you decide to leave the church?

I am neither angry nor upset. In fact, I really enjoy this forum where we can all voice our opinions/arguments in a respectful manner. It’s an opportunity for all of us to learn if we are open to it.

Jesus specifically commanded for his followers not to judge others.
Oh, it couldn’t be because he wants to give the impression that he is pro-gun? It couldn’t be possible that his statement was part of a political calculation? nowandlater, we’re talking politics here. The man is trying to play the Great Game, and he’s starting to flounder.
My advice to him would be to put aside all the games and just tell the truth. I would have more respect for him if he just came forward with his true views.

If you are really an ex-Mormon then please relate to me in a respectful manner how a true believer would view the similiarities of the early teachings and practives Christianity and to teachings and practices of the Mormon faith?
Also tell me how a true believing Mormon would account for the fallacy of DNA evidence of the Tower of Babel (Tower Babel says that all DNA is derived 4000 years ago from Syria) and the current DNA found in American Indian relating to ancient Isreal?
Also tell me how a true believer would account for Satan being described as a fallen angel and taking 1/3 of the host of heaven with him?
Also, please relate to me as a true believer why the literal translation of God in Genesis is Eloheim or the plural form of God with both sexes (male and female) emphasized in Hebrew? What is the true believer’s explanation for this if we take the translation literal?
