What would it take to make the free world rise up against islamo-fascist terrorism?

Posted on 04/05/2007 9:18:28 AM PDT by dotnetfellow

Thought Experiment: What would it take to make the free world rise up against islamo-fascist terrorism?

Apparently kidnapping and taking hostage British soldiers isn't going to motivate the free world to rise up against islamo-fascist terrorism.

Iranian terrorists crossing into Iraq and blowing up innocents isn't going to motivate the free world to rise up against islamo-fascist terrorism.

Lebanese terror groups hurling rockets into Israel isn't going to motivate the free world to rise up against islamo-fascist terrorism.

And lets face it, if Gore, or Kerry after him, had won the presidential election (both close elections), even now the US would not be confronting islamo-fascist terrorism in the Middle East.

Is there anything that may motivate the free world to rise up against islamo-fascist terrorism?

The IDEA of America is worth defending. Most Americans are not.

God Bless our wonderful military.

“what else would you do?”

Take out Nasrallah.

Take out Khamenei.

How do they say? Cut off the head of the snake?

Relentlessly, of course!

You call an airport security line “rising up”.

We have no more resolve for such necessary action.

world rise up against islamo-fascist terrorism?

What do you mean by "rising up against islamo-fascist terrorism"? What specifically - specifics - are you talking about? The US is already fighting terrorists in Iraq and Aghanistan. What other SPECIFIC actions are you talking about -- not general terms about "rising up against," but SPECIFIC initiatives -- need to happen, in your view?

In foxholes in the sand until they got the perimeter built. That was my nephew in Iraq four years ago. This is not a computer game.

“What specifically - specifics - are you talking about?”

For sending terrorists into Iraq to blow up innocents...

For sending terrorists into Israel to blow up innocents...

For sending terrorists into Spain to blow up innocents...

For taking British soldiers hostage...

Let’s see...

A good start...

Might mean...

Do you think...

Invade Iran?

What provocation would you think worthy of such invasive action?

>>>>Nothing, absolutely nothing. Even if a nuclear explosion destroyed a city somewhere on earth, the rest of the world would shrug and say, “Oh, well, that’s too bad, what’s on the TV tonight?”......

Good ....Drop the big boy on Tehran.....Broad Daylight....take out 6 million or so and the Jews will have been avenged and we regain some respect. Radical Islam is already here.....Look around and don’t be fooled..Lock n Load.

“Also, our soldiers are not allowed to shoot back at the enemy without finding themselves before a court-martial”

You have no idea what you are speaking about. You do NOT allow your soldiers to freely fire in a combat situation. Remember “don’t fire until you see the whites of their eyes”? Remember “save your ammo” during WW2. Remember “free fire zone” during VN. Remember a pilot doesn't drop a bomb without first getting permission. I suspect a caveman didn’t attack a mammoth until the chief gave them the word.

What would it take....?

I was thinking about this last week after watching 24.

After the US sustained ONE NUCLEAR explosion and ONE NUKE [not detonated] releasing radiation [dirty bomb] and with TWO MORE NUKES, at large, and their detonation within a matter of hours, I found it AMAZING that most every cabinet member believed the VP irresponsible for retaliating with a NUKE on an some arab nation.

He was told he would start "WORLD WAR III"!!! Isn't that what the FIRST NUKE detonated on US soil did? How many NUKES would it take for this nation to start obliterating it's sworn enemies WHEREVER they may be??

IMO, 911 was enough, but I am OBVIOUSLY in the minority and the further from 911 we get, the more people in this nation seem to think WE DESERVED IT or were RESPONSIBLE for it

I find it unfathomable, from my point of view that we would NOT retaliate IN KIND were we to sustain any kind of Nuclear attack on our nation........however I am not sure that would be the case!

I have wondered that for a long time. There was 9/11. The train bombings in Madrid and London. The uncountable murders and attacks. The Beslan torture and murder of schoolchildren. The headchopping ceremonies that were videotaped.
The world did not rise up and eliminate the murderers. Judging from past performance, I don't see the world rising up and wiping out the fanatical murderers. I don't even see signs of any country being seriously interested in protecting itself.
I keep thinking that the next attack will surely be the last straw and the world will take steps to protect itself. But then I think that the next attack will be like all the rest. Then I wonder if a really big attack will do it. I don't think so.
Maybe a really really big attack will do it! I don't think so.
A really really really big attack? Maybe

“A really really really big attack”

What does it mean, “really big”?

10,000?

100,000?

How many zeroes to the right of the number would it take?

You forgot:

Kidnapping and beheading innocent civilians and then airing the footage to the world isn't going to motivate the free world to rise up against islamo-fascist terrorism.

Blowing up innocent civilians on trains in Madrid and London isn't going to motivate the free world to rise up against islamo-fascist terrorism.

Invade Iran?

OK, then why don't you just state, clearly, in your headline what it is you want - an invasion of Iran. A call for the free world "to rise up against terrorists" is very vague. Why don't you be more forthright and headline it: When will the free world invade Iran?

Is there anything that may motivate the free world to rise up against islamo-fascist terrorism?

This topic really deserves two distinct discussions:

What should motivate the free world to rise up and eradicate islam.
And what will motivate the free world to rise up and eradicate islam.

The use of word "islam' as opposed to the politically correct "radical islam" is quite deliberate. The distinction is merely political (diplomatic?), a distinction without a difference.

My answer of what it would take? One 911 a week until the explosion arrives. The alternative, one such massacre a year forever, will merely tempt the ignorant, the cowardly and the comfortable into playing the odds, and accept that "others" will pay the price of indifference before they live out their lives in relative comfort.

Our children? They can decide for themselves!

Spoken like a true liberal. Despite all pretensions to the contrary, mothers and fathers are not interchangeable in the role of nurturing and in the social development of very young children. Even trained sociologists acknowledge this fact, which the experience of human civilization has taught us.
There is not, in my world, an unrestricted right to indulge in socio-pathological activities. No benefit to our nation that cannot otherwise readily be availed is obtained by making warriors of the mothers of young children.
