Teachers are dropping controversial subjects such as the Holocaust and the Crusades from history lessons because they do not want to offend children from certain races or religions, a report claims.
A lack of factual knowledge among some teachers, particularly in primary schools, is also leading to âshallowâ lessons on emotive and difficult subjects, according to the study by the Historical Association.

Interesting, I was never spared being taught repetively about the white man enslaving blacks, stealing land, being a behind all major strife in the world. I guess it is okay to offend whites.
A lack of factual knowledge among some teachers, particularly in primary schools, is also leading to shallow lessons on emotive and difficult subjects, according to the study by the Historical Association.George Santayana: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
But did your history classes ever mention that the slave traders in west Africa were Muslims?
History is by far the most potentially controversial subject taught in the school, even more troublesome than sex ed, for turning parents into ranting lunatics.
This is why the standard US history book used in high schools was so utterly watered down as to be useless. A bloated tome, it was noted that it devoted one paragraph each to Washington and Lincoln, and five pages to Marilyn Monroe.
Polynesians? Buddhists?
This is rediculous.
It's the land of make believe.
...Here, quick! Securely nail this Jell-O to the wall and it will stop the sky from falling.
Cowards, one and all!
I guess they also forgot to mention that after the African slave trade was abolished, the New England shipping industry started shipping massive amounts of Turkish opium to China to trade for Chinese goods.
In a related story, teachers are dropping the study of World War II, so as not to offend students of German, Japanese, and Italian extraction.
Sounds like a typical week for Larry King Live.
No, we were never told the slave traders were Muslim. Huge omission and this was many decades ago before PC. The fix was already in. Further we were never told the facts about the Barbary Pirates in the early 1800s and why America intervened.
Needless to say I have always remembered the movie, because it was the first that I really understood what happened.
Evan Sayet clearly defines liberalism.
It's long but well worth the time.
President Reagan commissioned a committee to find out why America’s schools were graduating students that couldn’t read, write, and compute. Over twenty years later, the public schools and Liberal teachers are creating generations of Liberals as well as illiterate students. Parents better wake up and take back their schools from the NEA and Liberal educators.

This is why I’m reviewing the curriculum before I send my kids to a school, any school.
THis is an article from England.
Where did you go to school?
I was taught about the Holocaust at a Catholic Prep school in Massachusetts in the 60’s.
My guess and it is just a guess they do not want to get stoned to death. You see the original story from the UK read Teachers refuse to teach the holocaust for fear of offending Muslims. Not those exact words but you get the drift. I always thought the Brits had stiff upper lips and all that jazz but now some appear to be nothing but wimps. Again no offense toward freepers from the UK
