Ahmadinejad Vows News Soon on Atomic Work
-Full Story-

Iran's president promised on Sunday Iranians would soon hear more news about the Islamic Republic's nuclear program, which the West believes is a covert effort to build atomic bombs despite Tehran's denials.

"The Iranian nation will soon hear fresh news about our country's nuclear transition," Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was quoted by the official IRNA news agency as saying.

He did not give details about any announcements or when the news would be released but Ahmadinejad is due to hold a news conference on Tuesday.

Report: Envoy to meet detained Iranians ~ detained in raid on terrorists at Irbil, Iraq....
Seattle Post-Intelligence ^ | Wednesday, April 4, 2007 · Last updated 3:33 a.m. PT | THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Posted on 04/04/2007 7:30:04 AM PDT by Ernest_at_the_Beach

TEHRAN, Iran — Iranian state media reported Wednesday that an Iranian envoy will be allowed to meet the five Iranians detained in January by U.S. forces in the northern Iraqi town of Irbil.

There was no immediate confirmation of the report in Baghdad, where neither Iraqi government nor a U.S. military spokesman said they knew that permission had been granted for such a meeting.

“A representative from the Iranian Embassy in Baghdad will meet” the detained Iranians, the official Islamic Republic News Agency said.

U.S. troops detained the five Iranians when it raided their office in Irbil, the capital of the Kurdish autonomous zone, on Jan 11. The troops also confiscated computers and documents.

The United States accused the Iranians of having links to an Iranian Revolutionary Guard network that was supplying funds and weapons to insurgents in Iraq. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said President Bush had approved the strategy of raiding Iranian targets in Iraq as part of efforts to confront the government in Tehran.

Iran denounced their detention, denying that they had any links to insurgents and saying the five men were diplomats who were engaged exclusively in consular work.

I do not agree with the writer’s bleak assessment. He over estimates Iran’s military capability. Yes, the potential is for a regional conflict to arise, but Iran does not have the ability to humiliate the US militarly. AQ was already in Iraq as well as other terrorists and terror organizations.

I AGREE WITH YOU Godzilla.

I find that it interesting to check Hammorabi’s blog
after a major incident has occurred.

From the article:
"Investigations by the Indonesian National Police (INP) led to a tactical decision to arrest five men who had gathered at a location in North Sleman in Yogyakarta on March 20. "During the arrest, INP shot one of the suspects after he produced an M16 rifle and fired upon INP officers. "The suspect was fatally wounded." Two more raids in the following days led to the arrest of a further three alleged terrorists.

Looks like it was, hopefully, a small cell.
Very interesting; thanks very much for posting that Cindy.

Morrilton Dam Bomb Threat (Arkansas)
Tuesday April 03, 2007

Morrilton - Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a Conway County Lock and Dam Tuesday morning following suspicious activity.

The incident happened at the Ormond Lock and Dam around 10 a.m. That's where dam employees reported seeing an individual in a suspicious vehicle place a note in a mailbox. The note was later determined to be a written bomb threat.

Local authorities along with FBI (website) and Homeland Security Officials were called in to investigate. The area was cordoned off for several hours as authorities combed the area. But no explosives were found.

Perpetrators who pointed lasers at planes sought (Hawaii)
4/4/07

The Coast Guard is looking for those responsible for pointing a green laser at airplanes landing in Barbers Point in two incidents this year. After the incidents in late February and early March, the Coast Guard flight crews were checked immediately at Tripler Army Medical Center. They were not injured. "Landing is a precarious operation," said Cmdr. Chris Moss, the operations officer at Air Station Barbers Point. "To be distracted by the laser is dangerous in itself, but the eye damage from the laser can be instantaneous and permanent."

There were three reports of airplanes being targeted by lasers this year in Hawaii, two of which were the Coast Guard planes, said Ian Gregor, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman. These were the first incidents in Hawaii in a year, he said. In January 2005, there were at least three reports of commercial airplanes being targeted by green lasers while landing at Honolulu Airport. These incidents were among several that were reported around the nation that year.

Emergency preparedness trailer stolen in Albuquerque
04/03/2007

SANTA FE - The state Health Department says its emergency preparedness trailer has been stolen from a parking lot in Albuquerque. Officials say the 40-foot trailer was locked and stored at Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque. It went missing sometime between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

The department has contracts with the college’s workforce training center to conduct a hands-on training with first responders on how to respond to a hazardous or radioactive emergency.

The trailer contained training materials, including decontamination showers, personal protective equipment, training mannequins and a secure box of quarter-sized samples of plutonium, cesium and strontium. The radioactive sources in the trailer were small enough that they do not pose a health threat to residents.

No doubt that this prompts some to leave the public system and begin home education.
