C-SPAN sent me an e-mail last night asking, "Are there plans for any upcoming pro-troop events?"
After I finished laughing, I replied that the Gathering of Eagles are working on a rally with Rolling Thunder on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, but that we are not ready to make a formal announcement. (We still aren't, FYI.)
This morning, C-SPAN called me and asked me if I knew of any support the troops rallies happening soon anywhere in the country.
I told them about the Vietnam veterans reunion in Florida at the end of April. They said they were looking for something sooner. After we hung up I remembered a pro-troops rally on April 10 in Jefferson City, Missouri, being held by the Missouri state government Veterans Committee and e-mailed the info to C-SPAN.
In all my years of dealing with C-SPAN, they have never come to me and asked if we have anything going on that they could cover. It looks like all the phone calls to C-SPAN by Freepers and Eagles criticizing their decision to not cover the Gathering of Eagles got their attention.
The ANSWER rally that C-SPAN chose to cover live that day was such a dud that C-SPAN only replayed it once: at five in the morning.
C-SPAN and the rest of the mainstream media gave the tens of thousands of Eagles who came to D.C. that day an object lesson in media bias. It's nice that C-SPAN came calling, but it's too late to repair the damage done to their credibility.
Good morning
Ask them to cover a Walter Reed rally some Friday evening.
The longer it takes before we do something, ANYTHING, the more it is going to look like The Gathering of Eagles was a one shot deal.
Anything is always better then nothing and my plan is better than the nothing we are doing right now.
I forget if it is MRC or some other outfit that does it's top 10 under reported stories of the year. This year #1 ought to be the ridiculously slanted reporting over the Marc 17 event, and how pro America supporters by some accounts actually outnumbered the America haters. How CSPAN and the others could have ignored that is beyond me.
I only wish GWB had mentioned this in his message marking the 4th anniv. of the Iraq invasion. Then maybe more in the media would have taken notice.
What needs to be done next would require a nation wide effort that will get our message out, the first step is of course decide on the message and the means by which it will be delivered to the media, that requires organization. I have already proposed a message and the means, and I'm patiently waiting for a decision to be made.

Exactly. But, at least, you know that they know we're on to them. So, there could be some progress here.
Great work, as always, FRiend.
Great video, USMCobra!
Sure don't look like she wants to stay at home and bake brownies.
Great post Kristinn.
Thanks for the ping.
that's nothing to apologize for - they done good and it can't hurt to repeat it.

I think you are in there a couple of times.
I agree with you. I would not tell them anything until the next major rally.
When I grow up I want to be a reporter. NOT.
They’ve obviously never heard of Google. They have to call you for the info and can’t find it themselves?
Babies.
‘...my brother will be back from Iraq.......’
Please let your brother know how much he (and his family) is appreciated and respected. Give him my thanks for his service to our great country.
