As many of you may know, Sam Hunter has recently become the Hunter Campaign's ambassador to Free Republic. He serves as a direct line to Duncan Hunter, under the username "Duncan Hunter Ambassador". You have questions? Sam has answers.
Sam has been able to answer more questions; more than last week, at any rate. Last week he answered three questions regarding the cutting of bureaucracies, health benefits for seniors, and why Duncan Hunter was unable to make it to the Gathering of Eagles in D.C. In Week 1, he answered questions regarding China, Ramos and Compean, the border, and CFR, among other things.

If (when) I send a contribution (U.S. Postal M.O.) to Rep. Hunter, and give my phone # as "Unlisted", will the contribution be accepted? Thank you.

Q: With the MSM basically ignoring all GOP candidates except the chosen 3, how is Representative Hunter specifically going to get the nationwide name recognition that will allow him to be a contender in the primaries?
Sam: My father is running a grassroots campaign, as you stated in your post the MSM has already chosen their favorites. Dad is running on some great issues that really resonate with most Americans. We need your help to spread the word about dad.

Q: What are Representative Hunters views on the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution? How far do they carry? i.e. automatic weapons, grenades, rifles, handguns, etc?

Q: I volunteered for his campaign on the web well over a month ago, and to date have received exactly one email - a reprint of a WND article. He's burning time that he doesn't have to burn. If he got ten volunteers busy to get others engaged, he would get a lot more traction outside those paying close attention to politics at this point, which is a small minority of the populace.

On a side note, Hunter is visiting Troy, Michigan today, just north of Detroit. Hope the GOP Reception goes well. Also, he will be visiting Montgomery, Alabama on April 11 for a meeting with the Alabama Federation of Republican Women. Likewise, he will be attending the Charleston County Republican Party Convention two days later in Charleston, South Carolina.
And on another side note, Duncan Hunter has vowed to not run for his congressional seat again; in exchange, his other son, Duncan Duane Hunter, the Marine who served in Iraq will be running for his seat. Let's wish him a good run.
Keep spreading the word people. We need a conservative back in the White House!

Oh pissant! You don’t tip your hand on something like this. There is no way Rep. Hunter should answer such a question. But you can be sure that he would do the right thing at the right time, and surround himself with the right men who know what they are doing.

I’ve been following the H1B visa thing for a while. The system has a tendency to breed fraud. Duncan Hunter could easily win both sides of this issue by opening an investigation into the fraud. Once employers know that there would be a consequent decrease in the numbers of supposedly qualified applicants, all of a sudden, then the open slots wouldn’t need to be filled by lottery. The quality of the immigrants goes up, and everyone wins.
The fair trade thing has been with us for a long time and will probably show itself in many forms, from Smoot-Hawley to H1B Visas. Here’s an oldie but goodie thread on Visa abuse.

I’ve had no problem getting a response from the website. They sent bumper stickers, cool fliers, lots of info. There was one day at first when it wasn’t taking the information though.
And, BTW, Hunter is out there everyday on radio, TV, South Carolina, etc. and still doing his job in congress unlike many.
I recall reading something about Hunter and the Scouts. Here's some I found.

Bill introduced to expand wilderness areas

WASHINGTON - Two East Coast lawmakers introduced a bill Friday with 73 co-sponsors that would designate as wilderness 23 million public acres in five Northern Rocky Mountain states, including Montana and Wyoming.
Reps. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., and Christopher Shays, R-Conn., wrote the Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act. It would give the government’s strongest protections to areas of Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. They announced the measure along with songstress Carole King.
Three co-sponsors are from Washington and three from Oregon. Both Montana and Wyoming’s representatives condemned the bill and vowed to fight it.
Similar measures have been introduced in several previous Congresses. But this time, the chairmen of the House Natural Resources Committee and the relevant subcommittee have both signed on as sponsors of the bill.
A panel spokeswoman said the committee is reviewing the legislation now and may hold hearings on it, although there are no immediate plans for one.
The bill would designate as wilderness all 20 million acres of inventoried roadless lands in the states and another 3 million acres in Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks. It includes 7 million acres in Montana and 5 million in Wyoming.
A wilderness designation generally prohibits timber harvesting and permanent roads, structures and facilities. Hunting, fishing and other recreational activities generally are allowed.
Maloney and Shays said the bill would protect some of the country’s most beautiful and ecologically important lands. They said it would save taxpayers $245 million over 10 years by managing the land as wilderness and eliminating “subsidized development” there. They said more than 2,300 jobs would be created through the bill’s program to rip out old logging roads and restore the areas to their natural state.
“(The act) has always been ahead of its time by drawing wilderness boundaries according to science, not politics,” Maloney said in a statement. “(The act) would also help mitigate the effects of global warming by protecting the corridors through which vulnerable wildlife can migrate to cooler areas.”
Rep. Denny Rehberg, R-Mont., said all legislation on public lands must take into consideration the opinions of local communities and people who depend on the resources for both work and recreation.
“I oppose this legislation because it’s a top-down approach that doesn’t properly take into account the impacts on the local economy nor does it adequately protect access for hunting, fishing and other forms of recreation,” Rehberg said in a statement. “I’ll continue to work to implement responsible policies to protect Montana’s natural resources.”
Rep. Barbara Cubin, R-Wyo., called the bill a “147-page assault on our Western way of life” and said local input and control would be slipping away.
“This is an absolutely offensive attempt by East Coast liberals to create sweeping, over-reaching laws for Western public lands without any public input from the folks living in Wyoming who would be heavily impacted by this legislation,” Cubin said in a statement. “I have always supported a carefully balanced multiple-use policy when it comes to public lands, and this bill would essentially do away with that type of sensible evaluation.”
