A Saudi man held in US custody for five years has told a military hearing he was tortured into confessing a role in the bombing of the USS Cole in 2000. Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, 41, said he had faced years of torture after his arrest in 2002, a Pentagon transcript from the closed-door hearing said.

Wonder when the congressional hearings will start?
"He was tried in absentia in a Yemeni court in September 2004 and sentenced to death." So, after we're through with him, let's turn him over to Yeman and see how he likes the treatment provided by his fellow Muslims.
Another charter member of the "Lying for Allah" club. He's lucky we didn't make him a member of the "Dying for Allah" club...
This is one of the guys the "secret prisons" leaker Mary McCarthy of the CIA brought up in the press.

ABC News is reporting that
Current and former CIA officers speaking to ABC News on the condition of confidentiality say the United States scrambled to get all the suspects off European soil before Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived there today. The officers say 11 top al Qaeda suspects have now been moved to a new CIA facility in the North African desert.
The disgrunted intelligence officers even disclosed an actual list of 12 high-value targets allegedly held by the CIA, and ABC is reporting it :
Abu Zubaydah: Held first in Thailand then Poland
Ibn Al-Shaykh al-Libi: Held in Poland. Previously held in Pakistan/Afghanistan
Abdul Rahim al-Sharqawi: Held in Poland
Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri: Held in Poland
Ramzi Binalshibh: Held in Poland
Mohammed Omar Abdel-Rahman: Held in Poland
Khalid Shaikh Mohammed: Held in Poland
Waleed Mohammed bin Attash: Held in Poland
Hambali: In U.S. custody. Kept isolated from other high-value targets.
Hassan Ghul: Held in Poland.
Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani: Held in Poland
Abu Faraj al-Libbi
Mr Nashiri said he made up stories to satisfy his captors, the transcript said, but gave no details of torture.
Maybe someone put panties on his head.
If he'd been an American captured by terrorists, he may not have a head left on his body.
Traitors, one and all! Rats for sure.
too much AC/DC...
He says that like it was a bad thing..........
If he still has limbs, eyes and genitals, he wasn't tortured enough.
He was forced to eat orange-glazed chicken and rice pilaf while watching AMERICAN IDOL on tv, which he just HATES.
If he can still talk, we didn't do something right.
I'm skeptical that Abd is telling the truth here. I say we water board him and see if he holds to this story.
The fact that he feels he can say this stuff is just proof that he wasn't tortured.
"Terror suspect 'tortured by US'"
Wowser, straight out of the Alqaeda Training Manual.
Thanks for the ping and your post, piasa.
(OPINION: I hope the alleged "current" "CIA officers" are fired
for allegedly speaking to the press and the alleged "former CIA officers" investigated for allegedly speaking to the press regarding alleged "secret prisons."
Poland is our friend.)
