In February, the IPCC warned of sea-level rises of 7-23 inches by the end of the century due to global warming, making coastal populations vulnerable to flooding and more intense hurricanes and typhoons.Any society that can't deal with a maximum rise in sea level of TWO FEET over NINETY YEARS has bigger problems than "global warming".

Thomas Wagner has written about 20 versions of this story so far this year. He's pacing himself.

The study gives no time frame for rising sea levels or the potential flooding in individual countries.
That is convenient. If the predicted results of the study do not emerge, just say that not enough time has passed.

Oh well....Guess it's time for some to move. I will go out on a limb here, But no looney carbon tax or moonbat carbon offset will do a damn thing. If the earth warms up, the earth warms up.

Hopefully, one of the cities to be wiped out by global warming with be Milwaukee............Just a minute, while I start my truck.

If I build my home on the side of Mt. St. Helens prior to 1980, is it a worldwide calamity or am I just a dumbass? If I build my business in a flood zone that hasn't flooded in the last hundred years and then it does, is that human induced climate change or simply human induced stupidity?
If the seas rise a few feet for whatever reason it is certainly going to cost me a ton of money even though I personally won't be effected. The question is: Should I attempt to change the planet and cause some real damage, or just say c'est la vie?

This is EXACTLY what makes it all not matter.
Notice it specifically mentions in the article that the "study" in question doesn't at all mention a time frame.
And what on "earth" does the global warming sea-level rise have to do with "violent storms"? Now the icebergs melting leads to major storms?
Anyway, I'm STILL asking the question (which goes unanswered) - WHY does it matter that the (earth? air? what?) temperature rises 1deg (C or F?) over a century? What in hell is the big deal? None of us or the animals or plants can handle that?

All the predictions about what it'll be like in a century.
I wonder how many laughs people will be having about this quaint musing at that point!

What in hell is the big deal? None of us or the animals or plants can handle that? So far no one has convinced me that global warming is a bad thing. I figure my chances of a heart attack are lessened since I shovel less snow off my driveway. We'll be able to grow food in areas previously too cold. I'll be able to go to opening day and attend the World Series in shorts. What exactly is the downside to global warming?
