Every issue is addressed in terms of how it will impact the next election. MAYBE one time the Old Boy's club should think about what state of the world is going to be in 5-10-15 years IF the DC Old Boys continue sitting on their thumbs when it comes to Iran. True, but above that, maybe the electorate should be a little more astute about why we need to be in Iraq and why me may need to act against Iran.
The ultimate reason why a politician follows the polls instead of leading against the polls is of course the people who vote. Why should a politician care when the people don't seem to.
Anyway, that's what makes the current President's actions in Iraq, remarkable. He doesn't follow the polls and he doesn't follow congress.
We are lucky in that respect.

For sure, it's high time we counter them.

Regarding the Edwards' decision.
I can see okay points on both sides...however, I remember during the 2004 campaign..and watched those kids being hauled all over creation, thinking that they must wonder when they will get any time just for THEM.
Now...their Mom has an incurable illness, and yet they STILL aren't spending the time with their kids.
I just think maybe both of the parents need to think more of the children...don't they deserve as much of Mommy as God gives them time for?

On Friday night...Sissy Chrissy was reading part of the WaPo editorial that was blasting the Dems for their supplemental bill that was loaded with pork bribes, and gave a date certain pull out date.
After reading a few lines, he told his guest that he expects the WaPo to write that because "they are a neocon newspaper"....LOLOLOLOL

Exactly, I cannot believe that they are so deluded that they think he is more important than his Children. Elizabeth has been pumping him up for a very long time, and it appears that neither one of them can stop reaching for the brass ring to think about what is ultimately the best for their Children. This will not be lost on the American Public, many of whom have gone through dreadful bouts with Cancer and know it is a 24/7/365 job. Hopefully they will re-think this matter after the initial shock wears off.

I just have to say this now:
The debate that has been going on today..on this thread..regarding the situation in Iran, is THE REASON that this is the best thread.
You are all debating with knowledge and opinions..and no cheap shots..no personalizing it.
Just reading this thread is like watching a great debate...carry on!!

I don't know about Chrissie smoking rope or dope, but he sure has the Nutzo behavior of the BDS left winger crowd down pat. I do not think too much elbow bending can "splain" how totally off the wall and accusatory he is at times. He pulls stuff out of some unknown body orifice that has no credibility or merit and makes it sound like it is Documented/verified News. If he was a Woman, I would say he spends way too much time under the Hairdryer listening to a bunch of Seahags gossip about things they have heard in bits and pieces. chrissie makes like he is a man because he turns the House Lights out at night and makes sure the doors are locked. Give me a break wussie man, you can train a dog to do that.

I can see the point of those calling for some kind of military reprisal.
Terrorists are like other Democrats: the more we try to treat them in a civilized manner the nastier and bolder they get. Sometimes, just lately, I wish our policy on negotiating with terrorists in hostage situations included a reaction which would preclude the possibility of a second offense.

Thanks for all your kind words just back from the hospital. No further news we now await bone scan tomorrow and the decision the surgeon will make from that.
Just so you can see I am not neglecting me here is a photo my dinner which is a chicken and ham casserole done in the slow cooker whilst I was at the hospital.
