The Sunday Talk Shows are generally miserable in their choice of guests.
This Sunday reaches a new low. And I thought that was impossible.
It was nice watching Brian Kilmeade challenging Wallace about Gonzales Nontroversy.
Right, time for Rasmussen doing some polling on the talk shows watchablity.
It really does, doesn't it. And there is no group more qualified to render that judgement than the one that gathers here.
I returned to the USA friday after being subjected to BBC and CNN world news for a month.Am catching up on FR and Wash Times.
BUT I did not miss nor will I watch the Sunday talking heads.
The only varmit missing on russert's show is chuck shoooomer. I wonder when russert will have some vets on so he can show the American people what their true feelings are regarding the war, President Bush and the pinkos.
Media Nuggets
###### NYTimes mixes its intoxicants and Gets Stupid. Even Liberal Jack Shafer can't take NYTimes demonizing US Troops in Page-one story.
###### Most popular blog on Wash.Post's website is "On Faith" , where Religion Views are THE topic.
###### 41 preferred Kenneth Starr over David Souter! - (Conservatives angry @ 41 & to some extent 43 over this even today) Supreme Court reporter reveals the Truth. (She is Jan Crawford Greenburg).
###### Winning the MSM & Losing the Country! - Dixie Chicks still feel heat. 3 weeks ago, the Dixie Chicks were the toast of the Grammy Awards, winning five awards and gloating onstage. This week, the country music community weighed in to remind the Texas trio that they are still not welcome in their own genre. We don't play their music, and it's strictly based on our research with our listeners.
###### Coming newspaper wars - The freebies. Imagine your city with three or four free dailies.
###### Desperate Times @ NYTimes.
###### Can't stop critics? - Buy them! - Can NBC's strategy save it's fall?
###### This Just In......
* Weekly Standard Stephen Hayes authored Vice President Dick Cheney's bio will hit bookstores this summer.

* Matt Cooper's wife, Mandy Grunwald, is Hillary Clinton's chief ad strategist.
* Luke Russert (s/o.Tim Russert) is learning politics 101 from James Carville. Both 're co-hosts of XM Radio's "60/20 Sports" show.
* Food Channel's recent hire Nigella Lawson is President Bush's favorite chef, so favorite that whenever President Bush visited Briton, she was chosen as chef.
* Mark Halperin, (famous for writing memo to journalists that Kerry should NOT be equally criticized as Prez.Bush) is OUT as political director of ABC because he publicly admitted that media leans left.
###### Dressing for TV - not enough. follow real news, stop spinning & start REAL reporting.

###### Wash.Post Slams - Democrats! and the "U idiot liberals" fame David Obey trashes & tears Wash.Post in the House.
###### Drip, drip, drip..... Boston Globe axes 24 jobs (6 percent of it's workforce), including Pulitzer prize winners.
###### NYTimes and McClatchy - Ad Revenue Tumble, as well drop-off in classified listings.

Maryland elected a Republican governor four years ago - the first in a generation - and the attacks on him began immediately. The democrat-run Legislature attacked every decision and statement Governor Ehrlich made, with the Baltimore Sun and the Washington Post acting as enablers - burying positive reports and aggressively publicizing anything that could be twisted to make him look bad.
Maryland has a huge number of political employees - over 7000 were in place by the end of the previous Dem governor's service. Governor Ehrlich removed about 300 of them to put in place people that he wanted in those positions, and the screaming and finger-pointing and INVESTIGATIONS never stopped. (Anyone remember MD4BUSH?)
Millions of dollars were spent on this investigation of something that was totally legal, and customary - except for the fact that no Republican had been elected in so long that the concept of working at the pleasure of the Governor had become an inconvenient distant memory.
I think that Schumer, Emanuel, and the other Dem operatives, such as Russert, Steffi, Schieffer, etc, witnessed this successful persecution of a good man and decided to follow the same template of persecution of President Bush when they got into the majority in our national Legislature.
Just checking in while waiting for a lift up the hospital to see dad - sorry will not be around live today.
Dad is in hospital with broken elbow and suspected broken hip. I am visiting him this afternoon so will not be on the thread today - please freep me with any awards etc and I will post as soon as possible. He has had 2 Xrays which confirmed broken elbow but inconclusive on hip whether old injury aggravated by fall or new injury also need to check state of bones to determine how to treat. Plus his blood at present is too thin to operate as he is on long acting blood thinners. They are expecting to do bone scan on Monday and if the blood and results of the scan are conclusive operate either late Monday or Tuesday
So sorry to hear of your dad's recent spate of problems.
Hope he feels much better soon.
ESPN II looks like a nice choice for now! That water and sky looks wonderful!
Congrats on your ribbon for last week's thread for your always valuable observations.
Republicans should never let Chuck Schumer out for his staffer's STEALING Michael Steele's SS#.
