Tunes For The Troops
For this weeks Canteen Music Dedication we move along the timeline to "Power Metal" music.
Power metal is a style of heavy metal music with the aim of evoking an "epic" feel, incorporating characteristics of primarily traditional metal along with thrash metal or speed metal, often within symphonic context.
Power metal lyrics are widely associated with being "upbeat" or "optimistic." Power metal is a style highly focused on the vocalist, with "clean" vocals being much more prevalent than the growling vocals often associated with death metal and black metal.
The selections below are just a sampling. This music is provided for the entertainment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies & their families!
Enjoy the varity of musical selections that the Canteen Deejays have provided throughout the thread. All DeeJays are happy to fill requests dedicated to the troops if we can.
All music is removed on Monday! Thanks to all the DeeJay's for their time & effort providing entertainment for the Troops!
*Canteen Mission Statement*
Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before. |

I'm seeing ads for the pick up feature. I only send flat rate, so maybe I should look into it. How do they manage customs forms, or do you just have to have them for the mailman to pick up with the boxes? How about receipts? Hmmmmm.....

kathy, I got a challenge for you.
Can you find "Deja Vu", from Dionne Warwicke?
To: Kathy in Alaska
I prepare the customs forms & adhere them to the box with the clear sleeves but don't seal them. I order the postage on-line.
My carrier brings me back the shipper copies postmarked in a day or two.
Granted we're lucky to have a husband/wife carrier team who are very supportive & helpful!

I order all my boxes and labels and forms on-line....I love having them, all free of course, delivered, for free, to my doorstep. I just checked and the clear sleeves are right there too.
Now.....I've never done postage on-line. How does that work? Do you need sticky labels to print out to put on the boxes?

I'm still beat after spending 8-hrs on my feet and constantly moving at the Youth Expo yesterday. We had over 2,000 Scouts of all ages show up. Lord knows how many other adults and families stopped by to just see what was going on. It even made the Channel 9 TV news.
