As many of you may know, Sam Hunter has recently become the Hunter Campaign's ambassador to Free Republic. He serves as a direct line to Duncan Hunter, under the username "Duncan Hunter Ambassador". You have questions? Sam has answers.
Unfortunately, Sam has been busy for most of this week campaigning for his father in Washington. Alas, it is the curse of being only one man. So there aren't so many answers this week. However, for those who missed last week's thread, Sam answered multiple questions, including ones regarding Ramos and Compeon, China, Guantanamo, and his opinion of treasonous cretins like Jane Fonda and John Kerry.
Without further ado, I give you Sam Hunter.
(Opening Statement from Sam Hunter)
"Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am here to represent my father to the best of my ability. I will work hard to respond to every post, although it may take a while to answer all of them, as I am only one person. I look forward to our discussions in the future."
(And just to clear up any confusion...)
"As much as I would love to have the title of a marine, I cannot take credit for that. You are referring to my older brother Duncan D. Hunter. I was there helping Duncan while he was in South Carolina, although my name was not mentioned."
(Just to erase any confusion on the matter.)
Q: What would President Hunter to do to dismantle unconstitutional bureaucracies in the Federal Government (the Department of Education, for example, or the FBI, and so on)? After all, nothing in the Constitution gave the Federal government law enforcement powers. Same for the Department of Education.
Sam: Dad believes in cutting the bureaucracy whenever possible. For a number of years he mandated the reduction of 25,000 bureacrats per year from the Federal Government, as an example.
-
Q: I talk to a lot of seniors here locally about Duncan Hunter. Mostly they like what he has to say but they worry about their issues as well. Things like affordability of medicines are a concern.
Sam: Dad voted for the Bipartisan Medicare Plan that provided for prescription drug benefits. So far the plan is gaining acceptance among senior citizens and has cost less money than projected.
-
Q: Was Duncan at the Gathering of Eagles in DC today? If not, why not?
Sam: Dad sends his apologies for not making the troop rally in D.C., due to commitments in Arizona and California. However, only eight days ago dad was with the troops in Fallujah, Ramadi and at the U.S. hospital in Germany.

And there you have it.
Hopefully, Sam will return to Free Republic soon. But in absence of Sam, a multitude of articles about Duncan Hunter's past have been posted within the last week. For those curious about Hunter's record about the Second Amendment, Illegal Immigration, and his support for the military, click here.
Also, Duncan Hunter will be appearing at Keene State in New Hampshire on March 26th.
Tune in next week for more answers!
And for those who like quotes and soundbites, I've compiled a few Duncan Hunter quotes in my profile.
Good work you're doing for us, Ultra. I appreciate it and I'm sure everybody else does as well. I patiently await answers for two questions I asked Sam.
If I have any questions today it would be 'What are Duncan Hunter's feelings on country of orgin labeling of food'?.
I'm thinking about this due to the fact that the tainted pet food story seems to be centering around poisoned wheat from China of all places. What happens if the same accident happens and poisoned wheat (or other food) goes to Chef Boyardee or something?
Interesting question.
Sam, what are Duncan Hunter's feelings on labeling the country of origin on certain food products?
The "Contribute by Mail" form on Rep. Hunters site states that a phone # is "required".
My number is unlisted - only immediate family has it.
If (when) I send a contribution (U.S. Postal M.O.) to Rep. Hunter, and give my phone # as "Unlisted", will the contribution be accepted?
Thank you.
Thanks for the ping...
I noticed that Mr. Hunter's son is running for his House seat...maybe some of the California freepers could help him.
I am assuming that he is conservative like his father, yes/no??
My question concerns senior citizens. I am not sure what is in store for us because the baby boomers should be around that age by then. I am really worried because the baby boomers are such a big group that they are going to rip through us bit by bit. I think they have already started. And this is just not about medicine. What about property rights, social security, etc.? And taxes, of course. There are many other things; the sum total is quality of life.
That would be correct.
You are a class act, Ultra. Thanks so much for all you do.
Hunter 's son Duncan who will be running for congress is conservative and a Marine who served 2 tours in Iraq
WOW...good for him.
After listening to that Iraq war vet on the House floor today...telling us that the troops in Iraq are ALL saying they don't know their mission...and want to come home NOW...blah, blah.
We NEED to get some young veterans to run on the GOP side...that will be patriotic and tell the truth.
We NEED to get some young veterans to run on the GOP side...that will be patriotic and tell the truth.
You said it, and he is the type that would hit the ground running
Will he be answering the 3 questions I posted on the other thread?
I'm leaving soom to go see 'Larry The Cable Guy'.
Won't be home till late.
Git-R-Done!
I'm 46.
Is that young? ;^)
Dear All,

"..only eight days ago dad was with the troops in Fallujah, Ramadi and at the U.S. hospital in Germany."
What a morale booster that must have been for the troops!
Nice list of polls, thanks.
just put in a junk number.
Wow, you're going to see Larry the Cable Guy? Cool, but I must say he's the least of my favorites on the Blue Collar comedy tour. He's jest a tad crude. My daughter likes Bill Engvall, I like Ron White. Have fun!
