Al is unable to cope. He has to speed it up before too many people realize what a freakin liar and phony he is.

Liberals are always unable to cope.

Nothing new here.

Of course it's speeding up! It needs to reach crisis proportions in time for the 2008 elections. Then the crisis will magically disappear when the elections are over.

Antarctica has been cooling for the last 50 years helping to give proof to the new CRF theory on climate change which predicts it. The only part that is warming is the Antarctic peninsula. So this article is very misleading.

How does one get to be elected a "top world scientist?"

You must not watch television. First there is the prom dress competition, then the swimsuit competition. The toughest part is the question and answer session where, if you win, you have to promise to fight FOR world peace and AGAINST global warming. The winner is the one who can say that crap with a straight face.

And that's how you get to be elected a "top world scientist" . . . . . . . or a Breck Girl, whichever comes first.

Good, I'm over a hundred miles from the Gulf... I can't wait to have waterfront property... with the upside that New York, Boston, Detroit, New Orleans and Los Angeles will be under water waiting for the government to buy scuba gear or snorkles...

I expect to find some amazing deals along the Malibu coast this weekend. And if I don't, I'm sending my lawyer after the world's "top scientist" for not creating enough mass hysteria among the Hollywood crowd, to force them into a fire sale.

The peninsula lies mostly North of the antarctic cyclone ~ that means it's subject to the warmer Temperate zone weather that blows in from time to time and gets little of the far colder Antarctic weather systems.

The Northern Hemisphere does not have the same phenomenon because it has far more landmass that gets in the way.

Re - photo

If the original photo you were working with showed the polar bears atop the ice flow, I'm wondering if that itself was also photoshopped. The idea is to make the bears look helpless and stranded, in danger of drowning, but that ice flow looks very weathered, and any bears stuck on it when it broke loose would have had plenty of opportunity to get off before it reached its current condition. And it doesn't look like it's something they could have easily climbed onto - it looks too steep and spindly. Or did you also put the bears there? Just wondering . . .

Not to be nit-picking, but we're talking about the southern hemisphere. It's spring only in the northern hemisphere.

From the article:

"...This was already happening in the south of England, where local councils and governments could not afford to protect all areas from sea water erosion as land continued to sink."

So....is the land sinking or the sea rising? This is the only example of a community 'unable to cope' per article and it clearly says the land is sinking! Ridiculous spin from the media as per instructions by the global leftists.

What I find hilarious is that Amy Klobuchar, from Minnesota, was complaining about global warming. It's a testament to the whole global warming hysteria that a Senator from Minnesota would find a problem with global warming.

Like it or not, if there were global warming caused by man, Minnesota would be a net beneficiary.

Yeah. I saw that too, and almost included it in my comments. Sinking land is an entirely different issue than rising seas as a result of global-warming-induced sea level rise.

Sinking land is an entirely different issue than rising seas as a result of global-warming-induced sea level rise.

In fact, the whole concept of average sea level is meaningless, as there is no constant unchanging sea level. There are parts of the world where the sea level is several meters higher than others. Plates are constantly sinking and rising. For example, during non-El Nino years, meridianal winds blow from the east to west in the pacific (pushing water westward) causing sea level in the western pacific to be meters above the eastern pacific as waters "pile up" in the western pacific.

The whole notion of sea level on a global scale is grossly over-simplified in AGW scenarios.
