Fred Thompson 44% Hitlary 43%
Fred Thompson 37% Hussein Obama 49%
Poll based on 800 likely voters over March 21-22..
Now watch the Giuliani supporters suddenly declare "Polls are meaningless!" LOL!
The actual headline of this piece reads:
"Thompson Tied with Clinton, Trails Obama"
Is there a reason why it was changed? I was about to post the article with the headline from the link.
Obama has spent 1 Mil+ campaigning, so far...
Thompson has spent exactly ZERO....
Let's see what happens in a couple of months...
Either the poll makes no sense, or people make no sense.
I didn't read the article, just looked at the poll results..I didn't expand the screen to even see the article..
1. A lot of people may know Fred Thompson's face but not put it with the name (it took me several movies before I learned John Rhys-Davies' name and quit referring to him as "that guy").
2. The poll might be different if we had a sample of people who demonstrated that they knew who Fred Thompson is (putting face with name). At this point, I have no idea whether it would result in better numbers for Thompson or not.
3. More interesting is the result against Obama. It indicates Obama has more star power than Hillary right now. Whether he can maintain it is yet to be seen. Hillary will have a hard time taking him out, as he is protected by his racial status just as she is immunized from some attacks because she is a woman.
4. This post doesn't let us know where those polled lived. A 43% against a 44% might end up being a winning position because of the electoral college, as President Bush demonstrated in 2000.
I will glady tell everyone I know (female or male). I, for one, don't support anyone who is too timid to tell the truth, anyone who talks out of both sides of their mouth, anyone that has to be politically correct, or anyone that's a coward because they're afraid to lose a vote. Making nice at this point in our future, doesn't work and will get us destroyed.
Of those that have declared, it seems that only Rudy can beat Hillary. If Thompson declares, I think everything changes.
Wow, you really believe that? Rudy is pro-abortion, pro-gay and anti-gun. That's a "good choice"?
Obama is someone who's bubble hasn't popped yet.
It makes some sense, 46% of people polled will not vote for Hillary! She can't win, she's a moribund looser.
Combine GOP fatigue with Fred's midrange name recognition (if they saw him, they'd know him) and even that result makes some sense.
"Yet he handily beats Hillary and is within the margin of error on Obama." I hereby nominate you as 'Spinmeister of The Year.' Twelve points is within MOE?? What orifice did you pull that statement from? And, by the opposite spin, if Hillary is at top of MOE, she wins handily.
That's just the closet jihadi vote. Radical leftists and jihadists are together on this, as they are allied on a whole host of issues.
Has Rudy officially declared? I don't think he has, although he has indicated he is running and has filed preliminary papers. All that aside, do you seriously think for one iota that if Fred Thompson is already polling that high, that he won't now decide to run? LOL!
Fred Thompson is well liked, and is not stuck with all the moral baggage that Giuliani has created for himself.
As if this has anything to do with Nov '08.
Methinks Fred has got them worried!
We have NO idea, however, how well-liked he is with the general public. Hopefully someone will do an in-depth poll about this before too much longer.
I haven't seen a built-in enemy like Rudy Giliani, John McCain or Mitt Romney have revealed.
