Iranians Seize British Sailors

Just saw in 7:00-7:30 segment of GMA.

Iranian navy siezed about a dozen UK sailors. Sailors were conducting routine shipping embargo inspection in northern end of Persian Gulf.

Sailors have been taken back to Iran

Can't find it anywhere else.

Australia would also help. And I'm sure Eastern Europe, especially Poland, would volunteer. As for Western Europe, the Germans will wring their hands, the De Gaulle will fly off catered meals. Question is, will "W" and Tony B use this as a casus belli top go after AlmiondJoy and the moolahs.

This is easy. When the Iranian President visits the UN, just grab him and give him a suite at Gitmo until they let the Brit sailors free. Ahmadinejad would understand hostage taking. He participated in these same acts during the Carter administration.

I believe that the current regime in iran is falling apart. The only way to possibly keep the mullah's in power is to start a war. If it comes to that, i hope the special forces go in and take out the damn mullah's first, then destroy the ground forces with air power. That should be just enough to touch off the revolution there....

Maybe yes and maybe no. From what some of the reports out of Persia, The mullahs and the people aren’t too happy with the nut job. They may just tell us to keep him. Bet dollars to donuts that he calls off the trip if this story is true.

Nothing surprising to me with respect to Russia's recent 'turn' towards Iran's enrichment crap.

This is an act of desperation by the nut jobs running Iran.

The Doomsday ImMadInTheHead cannot deal with the thought that him getting the A-bomb to drop on Israel has the dude has 'snapped another strap'.

IMHO, I think Iran has already acquired a nuke from N. Korea and is now provoking the West and its allies to have an 'excuse' to pop the device west SW of Iraq.

Also, the Iraq oil industry is being ripped off daily by militias and corrupt government officials. This money has been being skimmed for a while now and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if some of the black market oil profits haven't found their way back to Iran.

Iran's economy is on the brink of collapse from what I've been told by a coworker who has family in Tehran.

I think you're probably right that the Iranians have a nuke - whether it's NK or former Soviet I'm agnostic - and are confident that it will work. They're itching for an excuse to pop it on the Jews.

I do believe that even if the Iranians were to decapitate these sailors and show the video at the UN General Assembly, that most of Western Europe would refuse to consider anything sterner than moderate sanctions.

Eastern Europe is another story.

CNN just had a report. Said that six Iranian boats/ships were involved. Not regular Iranian Navy, but Revolutionary Guard. The British servicemen, Royal Marines (if I got that right) have been taken to Iran. No US personnel involved.

The deal will be they will give back the sailors if we give back the Iranian captives we got in Iraq plus the general that defected. We should then make a counteroffer. They give back the sailors by X-date or we will bomb the hell out of Iran. If they do notthen give the sailors back by the specified date we bomb the hell out of Iran on X-date+1. If they relent and return the sailors, we bomb the hell out of Iran on return-date+1.
