62% of nearly 3,000 votes are saying yes.
Has John Edwards weighed in on this?
He's a trial/malpractice lawyer, and unless he decides to specialize in divorces/family law [and is he licensed to practice law in Illinois?], his weighing in could be only a matter of professional courtesy.
If they want their sons to stick cucumbers up their asses in sex ed classes then fine vote it in...
If anyone doubts Christ, look at the world. There is no evil, none whatsoever, that won't be done by those who refuse to submit to God. What does the Bible say about the end times? It says they will be like the days of Sodom and Gomorrah (rampant, overt homosexuality). There is no middle ground in this spiritual war. You are either on one side or the other, but you can't sit this out and escape the results of this war on God.
There are good, God-fearing people in Illinois, but I doubt they are a majority. If they are, far too many are sitting this out while the God-haters push homosexuality as the norm. Frankly, it doesn't bode well for our nation when evil is called good and good is called evil.
Just voted 'no'. The 'yes' vote is down to 58.5%. But don't worry too much about these stupid online polls. I remember that an online poll even in Texas found traditional marriage just barely winning before Texans actually voted on the amendment, approving it with more than 76% of the vote. The liberal fruitcakes (e.g., DailyKos crowd, etc.) always like to skew things to make their losing side look as if they're winning. Low, vile scum that they are.
Just to put the record straight (pun intended) - a Rasmussen poll taken last year showed that Illinois voters preferred traditional marriage by a 58%-38% margin. Pretty solid for a 'Blue State'. What's more, the same poll found that by a margin of 45%-39% Illinois voters believed that Bible was 'literally true'. Once again, not bad for that fool Obama's home state. So, there is hope.
sounds like a pol for Obama......maybe he can show some 'leadership' on at least one issue.

I sure hope that's true. Southern Illinois is pretty conservative, but that great liberal cyst also known as Chicago pretty much runs the entire state. The conservatives just want to be left alone. If they were in charge, Chicago could still pretty much do its own thing...in Chicago. However, the liberals are in charge, and they pass all sorts of socialistic garbage that the rest of the state MUST follow.
Just voted myself, and I'm glad to see that common sense and morality is winning by nearly 60%. But, honestly, what bothers me the most is that 42% of the people are against it. I normally don't have any faith in polls, but I am sure there are a large percentage of people who want to allow homosexual union. And how many of these are people that have re-structured their thought processes because words like "traditional" and "morality" have been deemed dirty words as set forth by popular media?
andrew sullivan says edwards would vote yes (i know, just pillow talk, but still...)
The poll I got was for a smoking ban. I went ahead and voted for it. I live in Texas so it doesn't matter to me. Move the gays up there and the smokers down here. Sounds good.

Where was this poll taken? In NYC?
The only poll on that page was one on banning smoking.
Has the Illinois list been pinged?
(For the HA list later today.)
