John Edwards is suspending his campaign for President, and may drop out completely, because his wife has suffered a recurrence of the cancer that sickened her in 2004, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, an Edwards friend told The Politico.
"At a minimum he's going to suspend" the campaign, the source said. "Nobody knows precisely how serious her recurrence is. Itll be another couple of days before theres complete clarity."
"For him right now he has one priority which is her health and the security of the two young children," said the friend.
As for the campaign, "You don't shut this machine off completely, but everything will go on hold."

It was the pain from the rib fracture that caused her to seek medical assistance.Understood, but, in my experience, ribs don't crack easily.

the libtards at Kos were saying he was "so brave" for suspending his campaign are now saying hes "so brave" for not suspending it. Per usual, they talk out of both sides of their empty heads.

If this is anything like I saw with my mother, treatment will only prolong the inevitable.

"Did they say it was Stage IV?"If it's in her bones, it's Stage IV now.
To: Howlin
Thanks for answering.
FNC: Cancer is in the bones. Campaign goes on. (I must have misunderstood about the campaign earlier).
I'm stunned he's continuing. They have 2 little kids. Who will be taking care of them?

Cancer spread to bones.Very sad.
To: Peach
I thought Stage IV cancer is terminal, didn't know that it was treatable at that point.

On FNC they said it was stage IV.
Wow, she already has had a CT scan. Quick.
(Advice to all, get a FULL BODY PET scan if diagnosed with cancer.)

Stage IV
This stage includes invasive breast cancer in which
* a tumor has spread beyond the breast, underarm, and internal mammary lymph nodes, and
* a tumor may have spread to the supraclavicular lymph nodes (nodes located at the base of the neck, above the collarbone), lungs, liver, bone, or brain.
"Metastatic at presentation" means that the breast cancer has spread beyond the breast and nearby lymph nodes, even though this is the first diagnosis of breast cancer. The reason for this is that the primary breast cancer was not found when it was only inside the breast. Metastatic cancer is considered stage IV.

. . . and that is precisely why I think his numbers will plummet. This was a bottom-o-the-barrell BS attempt at publicity. Who's talked about him since the Coulter debacle?

I don't know Howlin. When my Mom was diagnosed with cancer - it was Stage IV @ that time. The oncologist told us he could push it back but it would return in the end. And it did with a vengeance. But she had three good years before it did.
