John Edwards is suspending his campaign for President, and may drop out completely, because his wife has suffered a recurrence of the cancer that sickened her in 2004, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, an Edwards friend told The Politico.
"At a minimum he's going to suspend" the campaign, the source said. "Nobody knows precisely how serious her recurrence is. Itll be another couple of days before theres complete clarity."
"For him right now he has one priority which is her health and the security of the two young children," said the friend.
As for the campaign, "You don't shut this machine off completely, but everything will go on hold."
>>berate them for wishing Laura Ingraham ill when Laura was diagnosed.
When the news about Laura came out I posted it on a radio messageboard and there were a couple "good, she deserves it" replies. A moderator (and yours truly) stepped in to chide them.
Prayers for Mrs. Edwards and her family.
My prayers are with the family. It just goes to show you that all the wealth in the world is meaningless when you don't have your health.
Thanks
I could be wrong, so don't quote me, but didn't she also have a lump removed in 2004? If I remember correctly, this has happened before?
Prayers for her recovery.
Honestly, I was kind of surprised when her book came out in October that they both said she was cancer free.
When my mother had breast cancer, they didn't declare her "free" for seven years. Maybe they have changed the time now.
As much as I detest the "Two Americas" Silky Pony, I wish his wife well.
Prayers for Mrs. Edwards and the Edwards family
Ann Romney battles MS; am sure Mitt would suspend his campaign if her health took a turn for the worse

>>Romney, 54, [in 2003] has kept a fairly low profile as the wife of [then-] Governor Mitt Romney, but she says she is contemplating a more public role in the fight against MS. Yesterday marked her second appearance this year to promote the MS walkathon.
Yes, and if all this is true, count on the press to offer Edwards up for sainthood. The media loves Edwards almost as much as they love Hillary's Magic Negro. He's pretty and he spouts all the right platitudes. If he "suspends" for now and then jumps back in later, for whatever reason, the press will slobber all over themselves to beatify him.
I think you have it pretty much nailed. :-)
>>>I have a cousin who is facing a similar situation where it spread to her lungs and brain.
Once it gets that far, there's no stopping it. It took my mother last December.
That's what class IS. Behaving at a higher level just because it's right. Not lowering yourself because others behave worse.
...in sickness and in health...
Good decision John Edwards. (did you consult with Newt before making it? /sarcasm...couldn't resist...sorry)
Good for him to concentrate on what he NEEDS to do rather than what he might WANT to do!
What campaign?
It's not like he really had a chance, anyway.
