RUSH: There's a fascinating story in the LA Times today. Get this headline. Who wrote this? David Ehrenstein is his name. He's LA-based, and "writes about Hollywood and politics." The headline of his column: "Obama, the 'Magic Negro.'"
...But it's clear that Obama also is running for an equally important unelected office, in the province of the popular imagination -- the 'Magic Negro.' The Magic Negro is a figure of postmodern folk culture, coined by snarky 20th century sociologists, to explain a cultural figure who emerged in the wake of Brown vs. Board of Education. 'He has no past, he simply appears one day to help the white protagonist,' reads the description on Wikipedia.
He's there to assuage white 'guilt' (i.e., the minimal discomfort they feel) over the role of slavery and racial segregation in American history, while replacing stereotypes of a dangerous, highly sexualized black man with a benign figure for whom interracial sexual congress holds no interest."

The problem with Obama is his connection to the racist, anti-Christian, and anti-Catholic hate organization MoveOn.org. Obama has been asked, by documentable E-mail (http://www.israpundit.com/2006/?p=4206), to repudiate MoveOn's support. We will find out whether he is with decent Americans, or with a hate group (MoveOn.org) every bit as repugnant as the Ku Klux Klan.

The "Barack the Magic Negro" parady Rush played on his show today was priceless. Hopefully he will post it on his site later.
To the tune of Puff the Magic Dragon:
Barack the Magic Negro lives in DC,
The LA Times they called him that, cuz he's black but not authenticly
You are several days late with this story. This is old news.
But Obama says he is a Christian. I suppose that makes him the Majic Christian.
Rush has a new Paul Shanklin parody...Al Sharpton singing "Barak, the Magic Negro" to the tune of "Puff, the Magic Dragon." Hysterical.
"I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you're a Republican and use the words magic negro, so I so kind of an impasse, cant really talk about Obama."
I read your mind, Red.
His Breck girl song is good too.
"Ann Coulter is just jealous because my hair has natural body and bounce."

Description
The magical negro is typically "in some way outwardly or inwardly disabled, either by discrimination, disability or social constraint," often a janitor or prisoner.[5] He has no past; he simply appears one day to help the white protagonist.[6]
Rush was talking about it less than an hour ago. The parody song is hysterical.
This creep has a blog!

LOL.
Once you're retired the nicname retires with you, otherwise Gayle Sayers would have a beef with Earvin, David and Obama. LOL
Hollywood has a term for this phenomenon - this figure is known as a "magic Negro," a term that dates back to the late 1950s, around the time Sidney Poitier sacrifices himself to save Tony Curtis in "The Defiant Ones."
Barack Obama has become the "Magic Negro". This has become a stereotypical character in modern mythology, their hallmark is their absolute goodness, untainted by any of the flaws that trouble actual (white) human beings.
Supernatural? Maybe. In their angelic goodness, the power of the "Magic Negro" is magnified far beyond that of mere men.
If it sounds too good to be true, perhaps it is.
And Rudy... the Magic Cross-Dresser.
Learned something new. Had never heard of "magic Negro" let alone the definition until now. Thanks!
LOL! Also called the Numinous Negro by Jonah Goldberg. Examples include the Will Smith character in Bagger Vance, or almost any Morgan Freeman or Djimon Honsou role....
