Way to go, young man! Way to go!
I haven't read anything yet about the situation. I only heard a news brief that he was still missing, but was dressed warmly enough for the weather. I don't even know how old the boy is or what his rank was.

Boy is walking out under his own power.
[So, he seems unhurt.]

8:25 CA time, CNN Headline News is still saying they haven't found him but regular CNN says they did. Now you know where not to go for breaking news.

Thank God for this good news. But I heard an odd thing this morning on the radio news that the youngster supposedly is ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and because of this, got restless and wandered away from the group. Anyone else hear this too?

I missed hearing how he came up missing. Was he with a troop? How did he get separated?

So maybe people will stop bashing the Boy Scouts as an organization that is not good for boys now?
Maybe cities will rethink kicking the Boy Scouts out of public facilities for their meetings now?

I thought this was interesting:
"Before reports surfaced that Michael had been found, the boy' father, Kent Auberry, said he was concerned, but not overly worried that his son, who's been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, does not have his medication with him."

I dropped to my knees and gave thanks. I heard the father speak this morning and felt a real connection. I am so grateful the boy has been found.

When my son was 13 we backpacked to deer hunt in the California Sierras. He had a map, compass, space blanket, whistle, and a lighter. He even had extra waterproof matches sealed into his rifle stock behind the buttplate along with fishhooks, line, extra ammo, and snare wire. The most important training I gave him was how to build a fire in the rain and stay put until found.
