I HATE the media! They are doing the enemy's (the terrorists or Satan or BOTH) work!

Boortz nailed it. Pelley should be deported to China where he would be perfectly happy.

I saw that. Couldn't believe my eyes. Who told that kid that telling his story on national TV before the trial would be a good idea?

Maybe he'll get some sympathy, but if so it'll mostly be because he admitted that was his first day in actual combat. Other than that, I think he may have done damage to his defense.

60 minutes exists to bash the military and the administration. I cannot stand to watch it because I have high blood pressure.

Local radio hosts on WHP Radio R.J. Harris and Dan Steele said Amen to this view of Pelley and how disgusting Pelley acted.

I watched the interview of Marine Sergeant Frank Wuterich. The 60 min guy loaded all the questions like a prosecuting attorney.

I never have served or been in combat. I respect those who have and are serving. If any alleged wrong doing occurred, I want the accused tried by those who have served and seen combat as only they can judge what was war and what may have crossed the line into wrong conduct. I do not believe anyone who pimps for TV ratings is qualified to judge our fine young military personnel.

Why would his lawyer let him go on 60 minutes?

I did not watch 60 minutes because I almost never do. But damn, this Pelley guy is sickening. He should not be shedding tears for the unintentional deaths of civilians (who also happen to be shooting at us) but instead asking why we are treating our soldiers like criminals for making mistakes in a war zone.

If we won't let our soldiers make war bring them home.

I watched the interview. Pelley's line of questioning and the phrasing he used was nothing short of reprehensible. I understand that the Marine wasn't going to be thrown softballs, but it was clear from the git-go that Pelly had no intention of getting to the truth. This was all about sensationalizing and grandstanding to puff up the ratings for 60m.

If Pelley was human and had one iota of conscience in his soul, he would be profoundly ashamed of his despicable 'performance'.

Very well said by Neal Boortz. Thanks for posting.

Pelley has no more idea of what happened in that incident than a six year old but you would have thought he was a grizzled war veteran by the way he condescendingly talked to SSgt Wuterich. CBS shows the world again they're very proficient at gutter journalism.

I'd be very surprised if at least some of those occupants didn't know about the IED being emplaced out front.

I couldn't watch it because I knew it wouldn't be a fair interview. Why in the world did the kid choose CNN to tell his story????

Scott Pelley isn't the enemy. The enemy is who brought the charges in the first place...the pussies in the Administration and the Pentagon. Blame Don Rumsfeld and George W Bush. Does anyone have any idea how many innocent French, Belgian and other civilians were killed by Allied troops? It was THOUSANDS. Did FDR or Henry Stimson bring charges against them? Of course not. But it should be no surprise that a President who took his shoes off in a filthy mosque a mere 4 days after 9/11 to proclaim "Islam is Peace", would prosecute a U.S. soldier for daring to accidentally kill Islamic civilians in a wartime hot zone.

Can anyone post the sponsors for this episode? I've got to send them some mail.

I couldn't watch the actual show, and I could only get through 20 seconds of it on hotair, but it was more than enough to know how I'm going to react. What a travesty.

Blame the folks who told him to go on 60 minutes. Blaming CBS would be like blaming a tiger for eating you if you jumped in his cage.

They probably thought that the media would be so eagar to do a hit job on the military that they would do a PR job for him.
