Thousands of anti-war demonstrators plan to march to the Pentagon from the Mall today to mark the fourth year of U.S. occupation in Iraq. The protesters are expected to converge on the Mall at 23rd Street and Constitution Avenue Northwest before marching at noon to the north parking lot of the Pentagon for a rally, event organizers said yesterday during a press conference at the George Washington University Law School. The protest commemorates the 40th anniversary of the 1967 march on the Pentagon, when demonstrators rallied against the war in Vietnam. "Iraq is like Vietnam in the sense that both wars were based on lies," said Brian Becker, the national coordinator for the umbrella protest group Act Now to Stop War and End Racism, or ANSWER.

It's expected to be 30 degrees or less in DC. They'll freeze their arses off. Ha!
Foxnews just said they would be covering the counter (Gathering of Eagles) protest.
OUTSTANDING ! !
I was just driving past there (work midshift). I work in that part of DC (near the Vietnam Mem). Lots of people are milling about. Lots of TV vans. A few moonbats flitting about. I think I also saw alot of the Gathering of Eagles guys around. I assumed they were, they didn't have that preening vacant gaze that the moonbats have. I was driving so I didn't look too hard. Should be an interesting day, but not for me. Off to bed. :-)
thank you for on the scene report!
Anyone know if there are any streaming webcams that might be in the area?
I'm thinking the Gathering of Eagles folks will show....
Hope they get some "exercise" to keep them warm...!!!
Peace out man...
Can't wait to see the pictures; I'm sure they're all clean and respectable looking (and smelling).
sorry about that. My post hung.
CNN just said that with an hour to go the number of the antiwar protestors is less than expected. We'll see how many will actually show up -- though the left is pretty good at turning out their "rent-a-mob".

Anti-war groups reject attack on memorials
by Sarah Frye
[t]he march in Washington has prompted a group of veterans, The Gathering of Eagles, to form.
Veterans from across the U.S. are assembling to form a wall of human bodies to prevent those people from desecrating the war memorials, said Henry Cook, national senior vice commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Im aware of about 15 to 20 who are going to Washington
who are from Mississippi. The MOPH is one group that has joined the Gathering of Eagles in their efforts
Ive never protested anything, but this weekend I am, said Gene Jones, commander of Diamondhead MOPH unit 771.
Jones learned about the demonstration online and says he is protesting because, I see our U.S. core structure of respect and self-worth being torn apart from within.
The Gathering of Eagles is being joined by Vets for Victory, Rolling Thunder and many other veteran groups.

Woo Hoo! Rolling Thunder BUMP!
Fox News just said they will be covering the Gathering of Eagles! No time mentioned yet.
30 degrees in DC with wind is very cold--it's the dampness there that gets you.
Hope we can have another Gathering in the spring when ice and snow won't be a problem for travelers.
