WASHINGTON Members of extremist groups have signed up as school bus drivers in the United States, counterterror officials said Friday, in a cautionary bulletin to police. An FBI spokesman said "parents and children have nothing to fear."
Asked about the alert notice, the FBI's Rich Kolko said "there are no threats, no plots and no history leading us to believe there is any reason for concern," although law enforcement agencies around the country were asked to watch out for kids' safety.

Good. I would like to see a bunch of Muslim terrorists get her.. One good thing about that pig is that I can turn her off. And I do every time I see her on a show I switch her OFF. I think shes one of the biggest morons on tv.

Extremists Signing Up to Be School Bus Drivers
What does that mean? You don't "sign up" to be a bus driver. You have to find a company that is hiring them, apply, go through the application process, and get hired. That is not signing up. And what are extremists? I tend to associate that description with terrorists but is that what they mean? In my opinion this is a very messy article. In some circles smokers, vegetarians, and Baptists are extremists. Perhaps the article should be School Bus Companies Are Hiring People With Criminal Records (or on Homeland Security's bad people list).

I've never actually seen the show.
BTW, the last paragraph in the article is chilling.
This is a powder keg, imho.

Did they change the meaning of the word "extremist" now, too? Could some one please tell me what the new and improved PC definition is? In this context, it's an intelligence/law enforcement term for "potential terrorist" or "terrorist supporter". An extremist group may have al-Qa'ida like philosophy or links, but hasn't actually don't anything yet. As an example, the 19 hijackers were extremists, right up until they siezed the planes. Then they became terrorists.
Also, "Extremist" is almost always shorthand for "Sunni extremist", unless otherwise specified. The term would not be used to describe a neo-Nazi group, for instance. It's become a very specific euphamism for terrorism.

"What kind of extremists? The fact they don't say leads me to believe it's Mohammedan "extremists.""
In the current enviornment Christians could be the Extremists. Our daughters are picked up by drivers who go to the local Bible college. (Atheists everywhere are afraid!)

Shame on you, asking for clarity and facts, rather than riding off madly in all directions on the wildest horse you can find.... You're off the thread, bucko.

Man, they'll let anybody be a school bus driver.
I've never met anyone crazier than my 1st grade and 5th grade bus drivers.
Crazier than postal employees.
Islamists would probably be an improvement right up until the mass slaughter.

Flew into LA a few times recently and have decided the rental car shuttle drivers are muslim. Easy way into the airport.

I am on here in the morning so I have no time or interest in that show...However I have seen the clips posted here. I also have no use for women who watch it. I have bus stop mom's who rave about her. Its always quite interesting when I have heard enough and tell them how things really are. I have one good friend who tells me please don't tell me how in danger our kids are. That was over the plots to hit the schools in NJ where I live. I guess many people choose denial. Its so much easier on their pea brains. Shaking my head here again...~P~

One counterterror official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue, said it was likely that the foreigners investigated were merely employed as bus drivers, and did not intend to use them as part of any terror plot.I guess he had his fingers crossed while he said that. Are these people real? Do they really think we are that stupid?

forms the public schools send home that ask you which govt. building and job your parents work in <<< Wonder if Valerie Plame has a daughter that filled in: "my Mommy works at Langley, she's a covert spy for the CIA"!
The triviality of the distractions that the Democrats invent is exceeded only by the magnitude of the publicity extracted!

Shouldn't there be alarm bells going off SOMEWHERE? The only alarm bells will be with the ACLU types. They'll say "if someone knows these people are extremists then we have violated their privacy in finding this out".
To: weef
The bulletin.... was sent Friday as part of what officials said was a routine FBI and Homeland Security Department advisory to local law enforcement. So are advisories routinely issued in the absence of threat?
How completely stupid do they think we are?
Never mind....
