Chavez offers Bush whole new ball game
Last Updated: 2:12am GMT 16/03/2007
Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan president, hopes to play baseball with US President George W. Bush when the two men are old and explained that his constant verbal abuse hurled at the American leader was "nothing personal".
"One day, if maybe George Bush and I survive all of this, we will reach old age, and it would be good to play a game of dominos, or street baseball," the fiery ally of Cuba's Fidel Castro said on his weekday radio programme.
Mr Chavez, who who has referred to Mr Bush on various occasions as a devil, donkey or drunkard - said that his opposition was due to "ethical, political, historic and geopolitical" reasons.
Mr Chavez also claimed that Venezuelan financial aid to Latin America has surpassed American commitments.
He said that cheap Venezuelan oil deals around the region amounted to $4.8 million a day in financial assistance solely through oil shipments, or $1.6 billion a year.
The Chavez government is estimated to have pledged a total of $5 billion to the region in donations, loans and bond purchases. Mr Bush confirmed recently that US aid to Latin America last year was $1.6 billion.
Chavez is losing his mind.
Chevez is hitting the blow.

Maybe Chavez has a medical problem which will need treatment in the U.S. soon. He wants to go to Cuba for treatment as a LAST resort.
Maybe a friendly little geriatric baseball game at the Crawford ranch oen day will provide the opportunity to peer into Hugo's soul and see what's in there.
Maybe he's not all that bad eh?
(do I reaallllly need that 'sarc off' tag here?)
Trust me, it's not in the cards for Chavez to reach old age.
Remember where you heard it first.

I'm kinda hoping for "projectile trauma". We have some inner city ERs that can work wonders with this kind of medical problem, provided the victim -- oops! Sorry! I mean patient -- is transported promptly.
I'm guessing that something happened in S.A. due to President Bush's visit. Maybe he is putting the screws to the wingnut.
you gotta be kiddin me...
I wouldn't mind taking a baseball bat, or a stickball bat to old Hugo, myself.
Chavez probably realizes that the wealthy of his country are fleeing in droves to Miami and other like locations. Regardless of this, I still will not buy any Citgo products at all. I would rather walk.
I think Bush's Latin American trip was far more effective than we realize.
"Now, when I called him Satan, I meant it in only the best possible way!"
Sort of like Ted Turner wanting to take Fidel duck hunting.
Dear President Bush,
Kindly ensure this dictator does not survive all this. Preferably with a fate similar to Saddam.
I seriously doubt it. But why shouldn't it be that way? Venezuela is part of Latin America. I mean, for Chavez to demand that the US should give more than Venezuela is to admit that the US is indeed the Leader Of The World.
Oh, Im so flattered
I'd personally be thrilled to get close to Chavez with a baseball bat. Batter up!
He is insane. Or on drugs.
