Kookcinich On House Floor:"Impeachment May Well Be the Only Remedy"

This House cannot avoid its Constitutionally authorized responsibility to restrain the abuse of Executive power.

The Administration has been preparing for an aggressive war against Iran. There is no solid, direct evidence that Iran has the intention of attacking the United States or its allies.

The US is a signatory to the UN Charter, a constituent treaty among the nations of the world. Article II, Section 4 of the UN Charter states, "all members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state. . ." Even the threat of a war of aggression is illegal.

Article VI of the US Constitution makes such treaties the Supreme Law of the Land. This Administration, has openly threatened aggression against Iran in violation of the US Constitution and the UN Charter.

This week the House Appropriations committee removed language from the Iraq war funding bill requiring the Administration, under Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 of the Constitution, to seek permission before it launched an attack against Iran.

Since war with Iran is an option of this Administration and since such war is patently illegal, then impeachment may well be the only remedy which remains to stop a war of aggression against Iran.

Bush should have hired Rush Limbaugh years ago...The
man (Bush) acts like he is oblivious to what is going
on, and everybody but the Janitor has the shivs out
for him. He needs to get mad as hell, and start defending
himself, if none of these RINO's are willing to step up
to the plate. If he would put some of these people
in their place, and have the balls to back it up..they
would back off..fast. JK

The comments here are a good example how how we are being sucked into their game. Some here are taking seriously his assertions, as if they are debatable on an intellectual level. They are not, and he is well known whack job. He and the other Dems aren't interested in a debate on the Constitution, they are trying to force the Bush admistration into declaring DEFEAT and bringing the troops home. THEY WANT AMERICA TO LOSE. They don't care what ridiculous claims they have to make, because they are never held accountable. You have to deal with that kind of stuff on the level it is offered.

Somewhere the enemy is laughing their @sses off.The Democrats can't get over the prejudices against their on country. The war on terror is going to be along one as long at the Mookies think America is divided and lacking collective resolve.

Run a camera if front of these leftists guys and they can't shut up. Like Narcissus, they must see their reflection in the camera lens. They should stand there until they die.

What a delightful scenario! Suppose that President Bush decides to quit for the good of the divisions that separate and stated that he would hope that both liberals and Conservatives would unite behind the unifying influence of President Cheney: - Let us pause for a minute and think through the ramifications of what the Washington crowd would do and how the world would react.

Who do you think he would select for his VP?

Cheney would probably pick either Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, or Condi Rice as his V.P.
