Charges dropped in Guilford College case GREENSBORO -- Charges against all the Guilford College football players involved in a recent fight at the school are being dismissed, the Guilford County District Attorney's office said Wednesday.
Six players had been facing assault charges following the January incident.
Assistant District Attorney Howard Neumann said the decision stemmed from several factors, including conflicting witness statements.
Three Palestinian students said they were beaten and were the target of ethnic slurs during the incident, while the father of one of the players said the Palestinian students had started the fight.

Well, you can bet that if the football players had started it, the DA would still be pursuing the case.
I think there is a diversity issue at play here
Bingo

Extremely convenient.
Please, oh please, make us innocent little muzzies victims of hate crimes so we can sue the socks of of somebody just like those poor, innocent imams on the plane.
I'll have to find a newspaper after work.
Someone here posted a link to the webpage of one of the accusers - a person with the wrong attitude. Like thinking that they could take on part of the football team from a small southern town.
Several of the accused were of color - their parents were hot about this incident and were on the news every night for awhile.
I still can't figure out why the Friends are bringing these students to the US. One of the accusers has been in trouble over and over again for violent episodes and had been dismissed from the Friends school and was attend the public university. Not my idea of good exchange student!
All this crud with Nifong did some good, I guess. Otherwise, the football players would have been railroaded, I think.
I was thinking that too. But I still wonder if it would be different had all the players been white. I'd like to believe something has been learned from the LAX hoax.
