Thanks for the ping US007, and I join everyone in extending a warm welcome to Sam Hunter, it is an honor to have you here among us, as you may know already Free Republic can be a bit raucous at times, especially when the traditional conservative principles and ideals (such as those espoused by your terrific Dad) collide with the shrill and ill-advised calls of those who would compromise those principles in the name of expediency and the flawed belief that a RINO (Republican In Name Only) is our Party's best bet to retain control of the White House.

I've been with Free Republic for just about 4 years now, and I can't think of a finer bunch of Americans that I'd like to spend my time with.

I think that I speak for almost everyone on this Duncan Hunter ping list when I say that we believe in your Dad, we believe him when he says that he is Ronald Reagan's ideological soul mate, we believe him when he says that securing our borders is among the highest national security issues and must be addressed, and we believe him when he says that he is for FAIR trade, not just open trade and that we need to take a hard look at how Communist China is taking advantage of us economically and militarily.

Well, as everyone on the list is thinking 'ahhh damn, there goes MKJ on a rant again', I will again wish you well, I welcome you, and look forward to January 20, 2009 when we all want to hear those words, "I Duncan Lee Hunter, do solemnly swear..."

If the charges are no big deal why are you all making such a big deal of it?

The "charges" are bogus. Hunter had to deal with these same phony charges ginned up by the Left in 2006 when running for re-election. And indeed, they hurt him very badly. He only got 64% of the vote in his district in a year when the GOP got their @sses handed to them nationwide. :-D
