It hasnt gotten widespread play yet, but former U.S. Sen. Zell Miller made a little news this week in Macon when he declared that abortion has contributed to the militarys manpower shortage, the Social Security crisis, and the flow of illegal immigrants into the United States.
How could this great land of plenty produce too few people in the last 30 years? Here is the brutal truth that no one dares to mention: Were too few because too many of our babies have been killed, Miller said.
Over 45 million since Roe v. Wade in 1973. If those 45 million children had lived, today they would be defending our country, they would be filling our jobs, they would be paying into Social Security, the former Georgia governor said. Still, we watch as 3,700 babies are killed every single day in America. It is unbelievable that a nation under God would allow this.
If you doubt us, check out the video at the Macon Telegraphs web site. The comments were made at a Tuesday night fund-raiser for a local anti-abortion counseling center.
State Sen. Nancy Schaefer (R-Turnerville), who has become an ideological ally of Miller on the abortion issue, made a similar statement almost exactly a year ago, but backed off upon press inquiries. Somehow, we dont think Millers inclined to throw himself in reverse.

I fell in love with Zell Miller the night after his speech at the Republican National Convention when he told that weenie Chrissy Matthews that he wished he could challenge him to a duel. My kinda guy.
Just WOW!
And it probably won't.
Come on, Joe Lieberman, follow Zell's lead.
If Hillary and Giuliani ended up being the nominees, Zell would make a great third-party candidate that could actually win.
Speak the truth and run..an old Balkans proverb.
He is correct, we've brought this on ourselves.
Zell Miller gets it.
Praise God for Zell Miller! He tells the truth -- but who will hear him if the NWO-Media refuse to give him air time or only uses soundbites in order to ridicule.
This is the kind of thinking that more Republicans should have.
I am sick to death of hearing there is a shortage of people. We have 2X the population we did in the 1950s, and back then the military was 3X the size it it today. All we have is a lack of will.
Hey, I did my part. I had 3. :)
susie
I'd love the chance to share with him the irony of Dick Lamm, who
passed America's first ever abortion law (signed 4-25-1967) in
Colorado, being seen a champion against illegal immigration!
Total non sequitur....Our refusal to enforce our immigration laws is the only reason. There were millions enough people here to get the job done.
Glad someone else gets it!
Whoa, now why don't the 'Rats nominate this guy and give the GOP a real run for the money?
