Something sticks in my gray matter that we should have armed flight attendents with side arms drawn and standing guard while a pilot is out of the cockpit. The pilot can then put the side arm back into the cockpit to end the procedure. Maybe an overhead sign that reads, "Do you feel lucky?" could also be used?

Armed flight attendents trained in martial arts instead of wussies, along with security cameras would help a lot.

I've said for some time, that it will take another event, an order of magnitude bigger than 9/11, to completely wake up the country. I really think only about 1/3rd woke up then.

I take a lot of Delta overseas flights up in business class and they always block both aisles with service carts and post FAs on both aisles before opening the cockpit door. I'm suprised AA doesn't use the same method.

Oh, yeah, I am not at all happy that I have come to that conclusion.

You would be surprised about how lax some airlines are about making sure that when the cockpit door is opened there is NO ONE near enough to enter.
Pathetic.

"Catch and release is stupid." Agreed!
Catch in a serious enough act - or pose a serious threat to others --- Kill them.

Huber I live at an airpark in Florida and have spoken to commercial pilots that live here and they tell of very often old Islamic females changing seats and pushing the envelope in flight just checking how far they can go and what they can get away with.
Since they are not male 18 to 35 they are not suspect but they all say they know these old ladies are going back to their cells and informing of results.
To a pilot they say they are checking for weak spots to take advantage of in the future.

Did your acquaintance claim to be involved in this situation?

No. It's all third hand information. That's why I raised the question on FR. It's better than Snopes for fact-checking!

Sooner or later an another airliner is going down. Sooner or later an another several airliners will go down at once.
I've been saying 19for the 19 originalsas all it takes is one per plane now.
(I.e., Al Qaida found 19 jihadists on 9/11 to attack us).

Rush started talking about this months ago .. and at the time I didn't think he was right .. but as time goes on I can see where people have no concept about what we're up against.
We're so spoiled and used to a life of ease .. the concept of WAR in the streets of the USA is just out of the realm of most people's reality. I hope people wake up before THAT war becomes fact.
But .. for me .. I'm considering purchasing a weapon (which I would never have considered years ago).

Don't just consider it....Do it while you still can.

It could be that rather than probing the security they are part of a longer-term campaign to desensitize the airlines. Repeated low level escapades like this would tend to wear the flight crews down, with each incident causing a bit less alarm. After enough "false alarms" the crews would much more likely to drop their guard.
Who knows what 'these people' are up to, it could just as easily be their way of yanking our chains. Get on a flight and because you feel you are being profiled give the profilers something to think about.
I know it's nice, and sometimes necessary, to get up and move around on flights that last an hour or more, but perhaps we've come to the point in airline travel that any movement away from one's assigned seat comes with more stringent restrictions. Especially against things like hanging out in any area of the cabin other than your assigned seat.
I wouldn't put it past our enemy to be just messing with us, enjoying the knowledge that they are alarming people.
