Couldn't agree more...so why aren't we doing this now? Sounds like a perfect job for retired SEALS and Special Forces guys, doesn't it?
If I were on a flight with burly armed guys handing out peanuts, I would feel a lot more secure!

Yeah, I hear ya. We have a great place out in East County - with it's own shooting range.
I'd like to have a CC - but I don't know what that entails .. as far as how much training I would need.
I've not been frisked since I was an unruly teenager. I've never been asked if I had a weapon in my car, or on my person.
I'm not going to go anywhere with a concealed weapon that I know I'm not supposed to go. I'm not taking it out, unless I intend to use it. I'm not careless, nor stupid.
Therefore I've no need for a CC.....

I dont' know where you live (Orange County, CA?), but there's more than one reason to get a CC. One important one is to let the powers that be know that a lot of their "constituents" feel strongly about being able to defend themselves. Just by getting one, you're sending a message to your government. Moreover, as the numbers of CC holders go up, others who are on the fence become encouraged to get theirs. I strongly encourage you to get one.
And yes, both my wife and I have ours.

The Jihadists declared war on us a long time ago, we are at war, but it is true the American people don't seem to know this, or care. I blame the media who were so intent on destroying the republicans that they made sure to belittle the war on terror in the eyes of the public.
The short answer to your question is yes. That's why I said this crew violated procedure.
If there is a Republican President, another 9-11-but-worse "event" will get another reaction like going into Iraq or less because there won't be any obvious targets. If a Democrat is president, it will get "steely resolve" and much mandating to the FBI to catch the perps and try them in a court of law. It will take 2 or 3 more events after that to wake up the president and Congress to the notion that their allies have betrayed them and are dangerous TO THEM. Then we will see a massive counterstrike. If the president is Mrs. Bill I expect we will throw nukes all over the place.
