BOSTON -- Gov. Deval Patrick's office announced Saturday evening that first lady Diane Patrick is being treated for exhaustion and depression.
The governor's press office said that the governor will work a flexible schedule for the next few weeks in order to spend more time with her and his family. Diane Patrick is a partner with the Boston law firm Ropes & Gray, but also makes public appearances in her role as first lady.
The Patrick's have two daughters.
The press office said "the family asks for the prayers and understanding of the public. We also ask respect for the familys privacy at this difficult time."

Deval Patrick now looking for a sympathy blip after his incredibly inept 2 month record as Governor?
This guy is good news for the nation.
He is exposing Massachusetts as the goofiest state in the Country, again.
I know, I live here.

Ministers lay hands on Diane and Deval Patrick as The Black Ministerial Alliance of Greater Boston, Inc. holds A Pre-Inaugural Prayer and Worship Service for Governor-elect Deval Patrick on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at Jubilee Christian Church. [Only picture I could find of the two of them.]

As odious as "DeVille" Patrick is as a governor, I would link to think that we FReepers are better than to ridicule his wife, a woman who is obviously going through a very difficult time.
Let's save our disdain for him on his miserable job performance, not his personal and family problems. And yes, I know, the Rats do it, but we're adults here.

Patrick is in way over his head. He's a Clinton flunky.
To: Radix
Brings back memories of Dukakis and his wife, no?
To: pickledelf
If she really has clinical depression, she needs our prayers. From one who had it and now leads a normal life, she has mine. It is a horrible, horrible thing.

I dont like the name Deval. He should change to something better, like Todd, or Larry.
