Democratic strategist Bob Beckel admitted, in an interview on Fox News, that Fred Thompson for president would be their worst nightmare. Sounds good to me!

It can't be any worse than pictures of Hillary, back then.
"He served 1 1/3 terms."
As of today, so has Hillary.
Given that, the purpose of his comment may have been merely to stir the pot on the Republican side. He may have infighting and competition for campaign dollars in mind. He certainly doesn't have in mind encouraging the Republicans to nominate their best candidate in terms of winning the election.
IMHO.
Congressman Billybob
He'll endorse McCain when this is all said and done
Right, again. He endorses McCain and then plans on being his VP? How's that theory?
Maybe not, but I think he is the ideal compromise candidate. I could live with him.
That depends. I see photos of Hillary back then and it simply invokes a gag reflex. Seeing someone is a plain polyester suit can have more of a mesmerizing affect. For instance, image a photo of Sean Vannity with his $200 haircut mused, or Bill O'Really in a lime green leisure suit. You'll sit there and stare in disbelief.

Politically, there is no closer "source" to Fred Thompson than Howard Baker. And according to TheHill.com:
"Thompson has told allies in recent days that he is exploring seriously a bid for president in 2008 in response to what he has described as strong encouragement from Republicans dissatisfied with the current slate of candidates."
"One senior Republican strategist dismissed talk that McCain, Romney and Giuliani have too great a head start in fundraising and organization for Thompson to catch up. The strategist said Thompson has an opening since many Republicans have concerns about the other three hopefuls. Giuliani has raised concern among conservative Republicans because of positions in favor of abortion rights, gun control and gay rights."
Any hesitancy FDT may have had to spare his friend John McCain's feelings have probably fallen by the wayside in recent days as McCain's numbers have tanked.
Run, Fred, Run!
Nonsense!
Rudy is the one the Dems are afraid of.
They are just working hard to con the Republicans to nominate ANYONE BUT Rudy, because they CAN BEAT ANYONE BUT RUDY.
Thomson would split the Republicans and we would end up with McCain and I cannot think of a worst choice than McCain vs. Hillary and of course Hillary would win.
I wouldn't take Bob Beckel at his word if he said the sun was out at high noon.
Acccccccccccck.......I don't even want to imagine any of those things, let alone see pictures!
If Hillary or Carville said that, I'd worry - but Beckel's a simpleton and not somebody I'd worry about "having the goods" on someone.
Far more chance of that happening then what you seen from the Duncanites: Hunter/Thompson.
I wonder what makes them think a well known and successful Senator would reenter politics to play second fiddle to a little known big spending Congressman.
Interesting theory.
Not that that is hard, or anything.
Also an OLD story - everything the last few days has suggested he's considering a run now even if he weren't before.
Are you worried Fred might knock your favorite RINO Rudy off his wagon?
Nobody in their right mind wants McCain. I do not want Rudy or McCain. I would rather vote for Jed Clampitt.
Can anyone help me?
Nah he was just married twice like Reagan and many others. He has a wife who is very young and pretty.
NOW THAT sounds more logical.
