Democratic strategist Bob Beckel admitted, in an interview on Fox News, that Fred Thompson for president would be their worst nightmare. Sounds good to me!

Haley was awesome during and after Katrina, especially compared to the inept duo in Louisiana.
Maybe it should be Guiliani/Barbour...get the NE and the South. Could be good.
Not bad- Perhaps Bolton would be better in face to face meetings with other "leaders" who might see that we are back to a no-nonsense attitude for Sec State.
Does Romnay have the stones to sit at the UN and listen to the rants and the liars and thieves? I for one think the Oil For Food program had more than just a couple of people taking bribes from it, and I think many of them are staffers who are still at the UN. Kofi didn't get any punishment, and there had to be paper shufflers who were a part of it.
Tell me who you want for Sec Defense??
Beckel followed Clinton with his own perverted
style...how dumb is he? He used his credit card
when he visited a lady of ill repute...I wonder
how all these politcal Yo-Yos keep landing on their
feet ?? must be the water in DC...??? JK
Fred probably expects to inherit McNuts staff and resources. friendship still has its advantages."
Resources- yes for sure. I think there are alot of people with money staying on the sidelines to see who really shakes out of the trees.
Staff? NO WAY. When you take over a company, you do not keep the old staff.
Divided or possibly divided loyalties are not what will do any candidate any good.
New staff and advisors will step forward to help-- and I predict that there will be plenty of volunteers.
If any FDT exploratory group is reading this, put me down for helping here in N Nevada. I have life-long bookkeeping skills-among other skills- I will donate for FDT if he runs.
True, but he does have lots of money and a decent team..."
I don't think McVain has the money you think he has. Reports at the end of March will tell the tale, but other reports from all around the country lead me to believe that McVain's donors are backing up and drying up.
I don't care how much money any of us have. Little or large donor- we only have so much to donate, and we want it to count.
A couple of the McVain meltdowns in public appearances and references to Star Wars and things lurking in the dark to do harm to him have McVain looking kookier every day. I think the cancer has gotten deeper into his head than we realize.
I see your point about the need for a re-energized Bolton at foggy bottom. You are right on that score. The State dept is up to its backside in anachronistic thinking and a bureaucracy that undermines national policy. They definitely need a new way to recruit!
Newt is a military historian. He has the experience and guts to lead the DOD.
I don't know what Romney could do. Maybe try and fix Ford Motors???
When it's raining, they even walk on it.
And on another note, I don't see Thompson as a great supporter of an armed citizenry,
I think that is an error. I think FDT supports the 2nd Amendment.
Need to get onto the NRA website to see if they have a rating there for FDT.

That is terribly funny, since Mitt's dad--George-- was the president of American Motors when I worked there in 1958-59. His dad was a very good businessman. Prpbably too honest to last long in today's business world. I thought highly of him when I worked there.
Sending Mitt to be the savior at Ford would be the greatest in irony, IMO...
I would trust a GOA opinion, but the NRA lost me 10 years ago. They are on record as supporting most of the unconstitutional gun laws that came out of congress to be signed by Klinton.
Thompson voted yes on several of them.

The BIG MONEY MEN have a very great deal MORE money than people on FR, all put together, have. If they are already committed to a candidate, that money, no matter how much they still have, is tied up.....campaign money doesn't get sent back to the donors, when they drop out/don't make it.
And when someone drops out/has a meltdown, his backers either shut the checkbook, or go for the leader; which Thompson will not be, when/IF he enters months from now.
I don't care if it saves 3 ounces of gas, this time chance sucks!
bttt
LOL. Good tagline. This last weekend was the one to be there for. Not sure whats in store for the rest of the week
