Sen. Hillary Clinton presumed the other day to give a think-tank audience a history lesson. But it turns out that the would-be president is herself in need of some tutoring. Appearing before the Center for American Progress, Clinton quoted extensively from President Franklin Roosevelt's speech to the nation two days after the attack on Pearl Harbor. "We are now in this war. We are all in it, all the way. Every man, woman and child is a partner in the most tremendous undertaking of our American history," FDR told an anxious nation that had just entered World War II.
Added Clinton: "That was presidential leadership that understood that when American soldiers are in harm's way, we are all at war." Of course, there was something else Roosevelt understood about war and presidential leadership - as does the current commander-in-chief, George W. Bush: When you find yourself in a war, you fight to win.
As FDR put it in that same speech: "The United States can accept no result save victory, final and complete . . . The sources of international brutality, wherever they exist, must be absolutely and finally broken . . . We're going to fight it with everything we got."
Hillary conveniently chose not to quote from that part of the speech.
snip....
FDR would have been appalled.
Rightly so.

I'll bet Hillary bit-off the head of the poor speechwriter who crafted this gem. "Don't you have me quoting great presidents anymore... do your realize how ridiculous I sound trying to pull of FDR? Especially when you've dodged the most important points in his speech?!"
Imagine the shrieking!
Perhaps she should have tried it with a southern accent.
L
Hillary has to quote someone as she has never had the experience of an intelligent thought of her own.
You would have thought that she'd learned her lesson a few years ago when she tried to channel FDR's wife...
LOL! Eleanor actually gave a damn about the troops in WW2. Her Heinousness just wants them for photo ops, which they had to be ordered to attend because none of them wanted to meet her when she went to Iraq.
Hillary "I'm Every President" Clinton.
Hillary also forgot to add that President Roosevelt didnt have the opposition party in Congress fighting to lose that war..
Hillary is far from the smartest woman in the US, In fact she isnt in the top 50 million.
So would Eleanor.
FDRs declaration speech contained "we will win the ultimate victory, so help us God!".
I believe Nancy Pelosi can run her a close second. Lets not forget Cynthia McKinney or Maxine Waters either.
"the word "victory" has apparently vanished from the vocabulary of just about every Democrat on Capitol Hill.
they've made clear, in no uncertain terms, that for them, victory in Iraq is not an option.
FDR would have been appalled. "
The Democrats are actually working to help the terrorists DEFEAT the US.
Queen Hillary doesn't realize her subjects can read.
I'm sure she'll fix that when she is coronated.

To have a republican respond with the 'rest of the story' would have been a Lloyd Benston moment for Republicans.
I'm stunned she even quoted FDR. That speech says a lot about "going to war" something the KOOK FRINGE has been nagging her about for some time.
It appears to me she still can't make up her mind whether going to war was a good thing or a bad thing.
Maybe it was only a bad thing because GEORGE did it .. but not when BILL did it. Hmmmmmm ..??
WOW you guys are great!!! I am so proud we all see through the transparent, lying smartest woman in America LOL LOL
Funny how the national media ignored her speech to the gay community about how she will get rid of 'don't ask don't tell' and allow gays to serve openly in the military and they will be her partner to the white house
She is the most dangerous, ugly human being and has to be stopped...otherwise we will live under a dictator
