Oh yeah completely legal...didnt threaten the guy, just held him until the calvary arrived. He was out numbered 2-1 and came out on top. Caption for that pic should be "Do ya feel lucky, punk? Well, do ya?

Back in 1971, while working out of the Lennox Sheriffs station (near L.A. International) my partner and I were passing through the city of Hawthorne Ca. when we heard on the radio a call of "shots fired" at a liquor store close to where we were so naturaly we headed that way.

This caper was handled by the Hawthorne cops. The clerk working in his father's liquor store was a reserve cop for the city.

The bad guy came in, ordered something behind the clerk and a pack of smokes. Lit his smoke and pulled the gun while the clerk was turned. Demanded the money be put in a bag, and as he reached for the bag, the clerk got his gun. Bang Bang.

When I walked in, the bad guy is on his back, the non-gun hand is across his chest covering the holes in the "ten-ring", still clutching the bag of money and the cigarette still burning was dangling from his mouth.

Really set the stage for a good night knowing one less bad guy to deal with.

No limit . As of 3/5/07 the murder count was 58 in the "City of Brotherly Love ". Last year they managed to cull the herd by 412.

So there is a hold up in progress, guns are involved, and someone points a cell phone in the direction of gunplay? "OMG, he's aiming at me!" bang! bang! [video changes to view of floor, offset 90 degrees]

Owner is lucky if he's not charged. Once you're outside, it's a whole different ballgame (whether that seems "fair" or not).

Did he shoot the guy outside? I thought he just made him hit the dirt, and held him till the cops came??????? The dead guy was inside.

Poor guy. Owning a little egg and ham place. Probably gets in a four in the morning every day. He's been robbed before.

Somehow the little grown up children of Kennedy and the Democrats just can't seem to stop robbing, raping and looting.

It was a thing of beauty. Especially with the bag of money covering it. A poignant touch was the cigarette not falling out of the mouth but still dangling.
