What's the connection between SI and the communist news network?

Time Warner owns them both.

ps Welcome to FR.

This is from Time Magazine, parent company of SI, from 1979:

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,947122,00.html

It's called 'The Cooling of America'.

Not even 30 years ago, a nanosecond on the global clock, they were talking about enacting radical changes to stop the process of Global Cooling.

Dayum. That guy better quick jump in his twin engine propshaft 850 horsepower fuel-sucking cigarette boat and full-trottle it inland to his jacked-up Hummer and scream like a girl all the way up to his 6000 square foot getaway ski house in Aspen. He'll be safe for at least a year or so until Big Water comes for him there but he'll have to kiss his beach summer-villa and Escalade goodbye.

Dear SI,

Please cancel my subscription again. A relative renewed it as a Christmas present. I tolerated it until this week's issue arrived with global warming on the cover. When I want serious scientific and social commentary, I turn to Sports Illustrated. Ha!

Thanks for the laugh.

I particularly like Katrina guy hauling the polar bear in the tub. Excellent work!

Might I suggest that Gore should be in that canoe that he paddled down the river AFTER they ordered the dam opened so that there would be enough water?

I think we should encourage this frenzy. Then we should buy as much panic-devalued waterfront property in Floriad and California as we can afford.

In fact, I am wondering if that is what these folks are really up to.

They started sending SI to my business address 8 or so months a go. I received several copies that I though to be an abbreviated form as I haven't read one for at least 25
years. Some truck firm, Dodge I think, was responsible.

Glad to hear this. I think it's been three years since opening day was canceled for snow at Wrigley Field. Might be a year or two longer though. Go Warming!

I am tired of all of the global warming stuff, because I spent a whole semester studying climate in a class for my geology major, back in the 1970's when everyone was panicing about a new Ice Age.

The whole thing is a scam, as has been shown by Gore and his buying carbon credits from himself.

We need to get busy finding the NEXT scam that we can get the idle rich to buy into. Frog farms? Inner-city badminton leagues? Do-it-yourself psych and art in one painting?

I just KNOW there is something we could make money on and laugh all the way to the bank!
