You'd think that of all people he'd have the knowledge and opportunity to take a walk around the cabin once in a while.

Hopes for a speedy recovery.

From Wiki: Warfarin (also known under the brand names of Coumadin®, Jantoven®, Marevan®, and Waran®) is an anticoagulant medication that is administered orally or, very rarely, by injection. It is used for the prophylaxis of thrombosis and embolism in many disorders. Its activity has to be monitored by frequent blood testing for the international normalized ratio (INR). It is named for the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation. Warfarin is a synthetic derivative of coumarin, a chemical found naturally in many plants, notably woodruff (Galium odoratum, Rubiaceae), and at lower levels in licorice, lavender and various other species. Warfarin was originally developed as a rat poison, but it is no longer used for that purpose as modern poisons are much more potent and toxic (e.g. brodifacoum). However, warfarin and contemporary rodenticides belong to the same class of drugs (coumarins) and both decrease blood coagulation by interfering with vitamin K metabolism.

The Japanese food, Natto, provides a similar benefit. You DON'T want to take Natto and your medicine together as you'll be increasing the strength. You can find out more about Natto at wikipedia and other health sites:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natto

Basically it has the same or similar active ingredients. They say drinking Scotch and chewing tobacco are "acquired tastes." Natto is closer to the chewing tobacco side of things. It looks rotten and tastes rotten but it's doable. You can buy them pre-packaged at Japanese (sometimes Chinese) stores. And, you can make your own, if you're up to it. I have no idea how you control the quantity of natto-kinase (one of the two active ingredients). Natto has been recommended in several health newsletters.

I hope Cheney recovers from this. We need adults at the White House.

I guess I was just saying we wouldn't have to worry about a Pelosi VP situation to begin with.

So true. But color me paranoid, if Cheney resigned and a long Senate fight for his replacement ensued and during this time Pelosi is the next in line, I'd be worried about some psycho moonbat trying take out the President. So the answer isn't just academic.

"And Bill Maher will be disappointed if this does not kill him..."

Well, as long as Bill Maher doesn't imply Cheney's a faggot. That would be far more offensive.

Good Lord. can't believe anyone is talking replacement for Cheney. There is none.

Anyway, he'll get top medical care and I'm sure he'll be fine.

The new meds are a great help. I had a problem years ago after flying from Spain to India then to Australia and then back to Chicago. I was in bed with IV heprin and saying my prayers with every heartbeat.

A blood clot is very scary and I'm sure the Vice-President is receiving the best medicine available. Even so, with his health history I hope the give him the old fashioned protocol so he really has time to heal and rest. God give him mercy and healing.

That would only increase the Left's hysteria. They would start beating the drum that our President and Vice President are medically unfit to serve. Most people who fly long distances do not immediately follow up with a visit to their physician.

Oh no. That's terrible. I hope they get it before it breaks loose. My mother had one go to her lungs and she almost died. She was in the hospital for 3 weeks.

Father, we come before You as two or more who believe that You are the God of healing, our Rafah. Please lay your hand on our beloved Vice President, Dick Cheney. Just as You perfectly designed our bodies to move oxygen through the blood, I pray that you restore the flow of blood and oxygen in Mr. Cheney's leg. Give wisdom to the Doctor's and comfort to Lynne. Asking humbly and according to Your perfect will. In Jesus name.

-Jo-

I dare say that somewhere in the White House there is a folder with one name in it. If anything happens to the VEEP, that name is sent to the Senate within hours. You might muck about with the Supreme Court, but you don't fool around with succession.
