If Giuliani can get through primaries, he stacks up well For a guy commonly regarded as a hero after 9/11, Mayor Giuliani is too quickly dismissed by presidential handicappers. Here's why he deserves a second look.

Bye bye.
Giuliani is certain to pick a huge number of Reagan Democrats.
I don;t know why I'm defending him, he's not even my second choice. But you guys are so wierd in your "reasoning" that it does get my goat.
That would be wonderful if he does decide. There is a website already up, though I do not recall the URL.
Hunter would crush the crusty pantsuit, or ears Obama. Or the likely dem candidate, Richardson. ALL Gopers would vote for him.
Yikes. The first primary is still ten months away, and already this is getting tiresome.
Personally, I'd rather see a social liberal who is a war hawk in the White House, than a relative unknown with perfect conservative credentials as an also-ran.
I guess it's all about priorities. Not saying mine are right and yours are wrong, but they sure are different.
Yes, but it is behind those issues and a few others to me.
But independents won't vote for Hunter. And they are the ones who decided the 2006 election.
Constitution Party.
Abortion is more important than the WOT?!?
This election my top priority is the WOT and I trust him to continue to fight it. Having seen him as mayor (although I don't live in NYC) I saw him reduce taxes, reform education, and reduce the welfare roles. Rudy doesn't pretend to be something he is not, when he says he is going to do something he does. I believe he will do the right thing by social issues and surround himself with the right people.
You'd better come up with sources for that, as well as the detailed "reasons" for every other marital breakup you condemn or support.
He said, she said. Only an idiot would believe that story.
I, for one judge a candidate on his/her track record, not on the words (lies) he spews just to get elected.
Didn't you vote for that pro land grab, pro tax and spend fellar?
LOL!!!!!
I don't think anyone here ever said Clinton was a conservative.
Thanks for that update.
Yes, over 30 million have died for abortion since Roe V Wade.
I'm against tattoos and body piercings for men, but that doesn't mean I believe they should be criminalized.
You are trying to classify all people who do not believe abortion should be criminalized as having the same position on abortion. There are many people who personally disagree with abortion but are not in favor of criminalizing it.
Then there is the question of when it becomes illegal if you do believe it should be criminalized. Some believe any form of birth control is wrong -- including the Pill and condoms. Some believe the key moment is conception and the morning-after pill is wrong. Some believe the first three months are OK for abortion but not later. And there are cultures past and present who believe killing a sickly baby after birth is the right thing to do (remember Sparta).
I also do not believe there is only one position on those who are "pro-life." From what I can tell (but I do not know for a fact), the essential qualification for being "pro-life" is that one believes abortion should be a crime. OK. What kind of crime? A misdemeanor? A felony? Aggravated Murder?
Then there is the question of punishment. If abortion is defined as premeditated murder, should that mean the death penalty is the proper punishment, or life in prison without parole?
These are serious questions with many possible answers. To reduce everything to two "teams" and pretend life is that simple is useful perhaps for mudfights and a simplistic level of debate, but not really useful for honestly and completely understanding the issue.
Do you have any links or resources I can search and learn more about how he plans to translate a local success to the national level?
Thanks.
