Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards John Edwards' campaign, reacting to derogatory comments by conservative commentator Ann Coulter she called the former North Carolina senator and presidential hopeful a "faggot" is trying to turn it into a rallying point for fundraising, asking supporters to donate $100,000 in "Coulter Cash."
It was unclear from the statement on the Edwards campaign Web site what the money would exactly go to, but it did address the comments directly.

"And the Edwards staffers story was reported"
There is reporting and there is reporting.
The Edwards story was reported, sure, but there was no fuss kicked about that story in the New York Slimes, Washington Post , etc like the fuss they are kicking over the Ann Coulter story. The buried the Edwards story deep in the papers. Meanwhile they are running non-stop with the Ann Coulter story even as we speak.
Normal liberal media nonsense.

"I'm sure the strategy has it's adherents, but calling Presidential candidates faggots is really stupid. From a political perspective. If you're selling books, it works."
It is sickening to me that so-called conservatives a) can't see that this was a joke on "rehab for using a word." and b) can't wait to jump on a person who has championed the cause and taken all the arrows while they sit on their asses and post endless about their particular obsession. Which in your case is Jews and Israel.
Why anyone would seek to be a leader in the conservative movement is beyond me or any human understanding. If there is a worse group for knee-jerk backstabbing at the slightest pretext, I don't want to meet them.
People like you, SJackson, make me sick. But you have a lot of company around here.

No, thousands here already have. Others too busy feigning outrage never will. No biggie.

"The problem for candidates in this instance, ex McCain, is that they were sharing the podium with her"
I doubt if McCain even likes Ann Coulter. She sure as heck doesn't have much good to say about him. I doubt if this is going to affect McCain in any way. McCain has plenty pf problems, but Ann Coulter is not one of them.

-she made a bad joke using the word "faggot", but did not call edwards one. I guess you think this is worth a thread...so take your hits. She is a book selling commentator looking for laughs. She got them. So? This just gives edwards one more news cycle, but he isn't going to be a winner for the dem nomination anyway....

I mean, when you can't call a faggot a faggot, what's this world coming to.
Or if you can't call Rudy a transvestite.
Or his supporters traitors
Folk who hump transvestites legs, and let dogs hump them.
Heck, I'd call you a horses behind, but I might have to go into rehab.
As a matter of curiosity, how many new Republican voters do you think this will bring in?

But she was speaking at CPAC, same podium as Republican Presidential candidates. Not Hannity, not a comedy club.
You think this is a net positive for Republican's, one that will bring in votes? How many?

I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word faggot, so I so kind of an impasse, cant really talk about Edwards.

"Yes, but she represents Ann, not the Republican Party. That's why Republican candidates are distancing themselves. "
Well, let's take some microphones into any prison, gay bathhouse or drug pushers home, and they will most likely vote for liberals...but are the lib candidates distancing themselves from those people? No. They don't care as long as they get the votes.

I think that the Coulter comment is sticking.
He is now John "Faggot" Edwards. And that he shall remain.
So much for his political ambitions.
To: period end of story
Look at where his hands are. I think he's trying to feel to see if he has any balls and is finding he doesn't.
