Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards John Edwards' campaign, reacting to derogatory comments by conservative commentator Ann Coulter she called the former North Carolina senator and presidential hopeful a "faggot" is trying to turn it into a rallying point for fundraising, asking supporters to donate $100,000 in "Coulter Cash."
It was unclear from the statement on the Edwards campaign Web site what the money would exactly go to, but it did address the comments directly.

"Well, it looks like Edwards has cornered the support of the homosexual wing of the Democrat Party"
He is not worried about the Christians in this country though.
Let's see this sucker win with the less than 2% of the population that is homosexual while trashing the over 76% that are Christians, shall we?
What an idot!
To: Lion Den Dan
Coulter did not call the Breck Girl a faggot. I would do that but she did not. Thanks for the Clintonian parsing. Doesn't fly.

I doubt that. These Trouser Pilots are known to be a tight-fist bunch.

They use this as a fund raising tool! Maybe they could find a funeral somewhere and really rake in the bucks, ala Paul Wellstone?

It was a joke. It combined a current events story with the popular conservative charge that Edwards is a girly-man. She doesn't think he is gay, so acting like it was a real accusation is just exceedingly silly and irresponsible.

This is so hypocritical. Coulter did nothing wrong and has nothing to apologize for. And she stirred up the usual assortment of yahoos who want to corner the market on words and language.

Shows how much he cares what she said, "Yeah yeah, just give me $100k". Instead of "Coulter cash" why doesn`t he do what he usually does and ask for "Ambulance chaser cash"?

As an aside to this post, can anyone tell me of Edward's athletic background, if any. I always wondered whether he makes any claims to being a former athlete.
I just find the way he gestures with his hands and moves is extremely feminine.

No more stupid that the Johh Edwards bloggers launching a vicious attack against Catholics.I think the attacks on Catholics was worse. I doubt it won Edwards any votes. I doubt this comment will win Republicans any votes.
So how come the lame brain media is not kicking up a fuss over that?
Could be because the media overwhelmingly supports Dem candidates. And the Edwards staffers story was reported.

Nonsense.
Since when did Ann Coulter start representing the Republican Party?
Has she ever held an official position in the Republican Party?

She's not a politician, she's a book seller. And the response from the Edwards camp illustrates her point. BTW, her point was more about political correctness, not Edwards. Made brilliantly. No one is happier about it than Hillary and Obama, though I'm sure they will feign outrage like everyone else. Emphasis on FEIGN.
