FreeRepublic Policy Statement
FrreRepublic ^ | Unknown | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/03/2007 5:38:03 PM PST by ZULU

"Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty. "

But we have military out there doing things that are much harder than trying to push things in the right direction politically. They are my motivation.

Very wise posts this evening.

Just checking in to say that I'm a proud Freeper, a proud conservative-libertarian, and I'll be proud to support Rudy Giuliani if he wins the GOP nomination.

dunno, I thought she was just extremely ignorant.

That's the point!

I just knew that, given time, she would give us something better than "...and I'm on a (((PING))) list too!" or "...leave Rudy alone!"

Freakin' hilarious!!

You must BE very serious ABOUT your thoughts. It is CLEAR from the STYLE of your POSTS. Capitalizing every 5TH WORD or SO clearly makes YOUR arguments more LOGICAL and convincing.

Why would any good Republican Bash another Republican? Especially Rudy, a guy that has helped so many Conservative candidates in the last election.

This is not directed at you guys specifically, but pointing out the facts about a candidate's statements, positions and performance record is not "bashing" - this disingenuous conflation of "bashing" with legitimate "criticism" has become tiresome. Granted there are a few posters here who seem to live to stir up trouble, but that is not the majority of posters, and it is absolutely not the majority of lurkers.

The best way to handle the bashers and other assorted troublemakers is to simply ignore them. Don't respond to them, don't argue with them, and don't talk about them in your other posts. Try it, I believe you'll be pleased with how well it works. /grin

As several of the more thoughtful posters here have pointed out, it's way too early to get so riled-up over an election 18 months away. Now is the time, before the primaries, for all of us to just do our research and get the information and facts about all the prospective candidates on the record, in a manner respectful of each other. The hard choices of where to compromise and how best to pull together will come later.

Thats why I started my posts with ROFLMAO>

This is very funny in a way for such a serious subject as who will be the next president.

Sometimes it is fun just to throw a little fecal matter in to the old fan blades just to see where it lands.

However, sometimes it just blows back and hits the thrower.

The Perot statement comes from personal knowledge and friends who have worked and associated with the man both directly and indirectly.

Why don't you spend your time bashing Hillary?

Because she's not trying to snooker conservatives into voting for her as the Republican party's presidential nominee and standard bearer. Rudy and his horde of FR newbies FR are.

Check the series of posts I placed here.

Is it not a legitimate question to ask where a candidate's position on issues fits in with the stated purpose of this forum?

Thompson voted "not guilty" in the Clinton impeachment. That's enough for me -- and goes for any other RINO who wants the Republican nomination for POTUS or VPOTUS. The Thompson campaign will never even leave the station.

THAT observed statistic speaks volumes about not just many here but about America's priorities in general. Baubles, shiny objects, sensationalism, scandal all take mental bandwidth away from principled focus on absolute, important issues.

Priorities, FRiends!
