Ann Coulter Slams Edwards With Anti-Gay Slur
Hotline ^ | 3/2/07

Posted on 03/02/2007 3:46:10 PM PST by areafiftyone

"I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot,’ so I — so kind of an impasse, can’t really talk about Edwards," Ann Coulter said today at CPAC. Her audience seemed to to evince both shock and delight.

The Human Rights Campaign's Joe Solomnese was not happy.

“To interject this word into American political discourse is a vile and disgusting way to sink the debate to a new, all-time low. Make no doubt about it, these remarks go directly against what our Founding Fathers intended and have no place on the schoolyard, much less our country’s political arena.”

Next, there'll be calls for Republican candidates to disassociate themselves from Coulter's remarks. Unfairly, ex-MA Gov. Mitt Romney faces the biggest burden: he spoke right before Coulter and praised her... not knowing what she planned to say.

Who are you referring to, Edwards or Coulter?

LOL...well, I was thinking Edwards. I'm not the rapid Coulter fan that many are...but I don't think she's a she-male. Maybe a female, city version of Ted Nugent.

I like Hunter. I think he's awesome. But it is hardly Ann Coulter's fault that after DECADES in Congress, he hasn't exactly grabbed attention. One speech at CPAC wasn't going to change that. Where are the quotes from Huckabee? Brownback? Or a dozen other folks who spoke at CPAC? They do general stories and color commentary on CPAC in the MSM. They don't do a play by play.

The fact that Hunter's speech played again at 8:00 tonight on CSPAN was a huge deal in and of itself. Let's take what we can get here. I'm not gonna cry cause Katie Couric and the rest of the anchor wimps from the MSM weren't doing a live standup at the Omni Shoreham. That's just the way it is. They never have and they never will. To quote Craig Shirley, they look at CPAC like it is a Star Trek convention.

Wash Times will probably do a story and pull a quote. But it will take a lot more than a CPAC speech to make a dent in the consciousness of the voting electorate. The amount of money and repetition and message acceptance it takes to have a single message or impression sink in nationwide is staggering. Particularly with all the noise out there about Britney being bald or the naked chick on American Idol or the hysteria over Barack in a bathing suit.

Now I truly wish that the Duncan Hunters of the world could create such a massive amount of buzz from a CPAC speech that their message would reverberate around the globe. I really do. But to blame Duncan's lack of coverage on Ann is ridiculous.

Every year they find one "outrageous" quote or something or other to bash CPAC and conservatives with. Nothing new.

Hunter won't be hurt by this. Mitt Romney, on the other hand, is going to be called upon to disown Ann Coulter in his next 50 interviews because she said this while endorsing him.

I wuz thinkin' about that. Hunter lost press and air time. You're right about Mitt. Rudy won't be affected at all.

And I will bet he doesn't. Or if he does it is to belittle, lampoon and otherwise shame those whose panties are in a full wad.

Ann is delightful. As far as her remarks about Edwards go, that is the FIRST thing I thought when I first saw him with Kerry: What a pair of homosexuals!

I agree. I would love to stuff a biscuit in her mouth but she would more than likely throw it up.

Looks like Ann is getting desperate for attention. Again.

Yep. If only she could focus all that neediness on a sandwich.

When I was growing up, gay meant happy, joyful. Fag meant homosexual. She was right the first time. The word is faggot. Not gay. How the heck did that word ever get picked to explain a homo anyway???

The attention whore here is you.

You admit you are not a conservative, so you post on a forum where most people disagree with you. Why?

AC made a JOKE. It's a joke about how using the wrong word gets you sent to rehab.

And you and the other seminar callers and Soros employees prove her point.

Now get back to work "defending the GOP."

LOL!

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

Stultifyingly hilarious.

(No wonder people like you can't recognize a joke. It takes a sense of humor -- and a little bit of intellect.)

Whenever I see John Edwards, the first thing that comes to mind is this little ditty by Rodgers and Hammerstein:

Keep it gay, keep it light, keep it fresh, keep it fair,
let it bloom every night, give it room, give it air
Keep your love a lovely dream an' never wake it
make it happy an' be happy as you make it!

Let it sing like a nightingale in May, keep it gay
keep it free or you'll frighten it away!
Take it easy and enjoy it, while you take it
Keep it gay, keep it gay, keep it gay!

Keep it gay ( keep it gay! ) keep it light ( keep it light! )
keep it fresh ( keep it fresh! ) keep it fair ( keep it fair! )
let it bloom ( let it bloom! ) every night ( every night! )
give it room, give it air
Keep your love a lovely dream an' never wake it
make it happy an' be happy as you make it!

Let it sing like a nightingale in May, keep it gay
keep it free or you'll frighten it away!
Take it easy and enjoy it, while you take it
Keep it gay, keep it gay, keep it gay!
