but it basically derided those who thought abortion and guns were the important issues.

I haven't seen anybody doing that; I've seen people, myself included, pointing out that abortion and guns aren't going to be the issues that decide the election in 2008.

Most everybody here is against abortion and for guns.

Former "conservative activists" at best, now that they're supporting a pro-abort, pro-gay agenda, gun-grabbing liberal.

That's one way of looking at it...the other way is that we stopped terrorists from entering the US and detonating a nuke...thereby saving 2-3 million lives...and that defense from Muslim terrorists happens daily...

why would I do that? and why do you insist on making this personal?

Your previous comment about fetuses "killing" just struck me as odd, and made me think about a funny way to illustrate the oddity, so I did. But I didn't make it personal.

While there are people who believe no abortion should be legal, they are such a small minority as to be dismissible.

Virtually all pro-life people allow for abortion when the mother's life truly is in danger. But it's odd to see the fetus BLAMED for killing a mother, as if they were acting out of spite, hatred, or malice like abortionists do.

Try being decent towards people for a change.

Yeah, they should emulate your model of inferring that Rudy critics are Klan.

I took from your posts that you were mocking people/women who may want to have an abortion because of their health.

Sorry if I misunderstood.

"Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step over the ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! -- All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a Thousand years. At what point, then, is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide." - Abraham Lincoln

Whose your third candidate? I don't have one myself, but maybe I missed someone in a senior moment. :)

When he went on H&C after he announced and Sean started grilling him on all the hotbutton subjects and he said he would not backtrack on his personal beliefs to get elected, I knew this was the man for this country. #1 is honesty and I like his "you see what you get persona."

If he fights the WOT, as I know he will, and appoints good SCOTUS, as I believe he will, then everything else is of no issue to me.

I have lurked on this site since 1996 and posted occasionally on various topics that I feel strongly on. I am a born-again Christian that is adamantly opposed to abortion and believe strongly in pro-gun rights. I voted for Ronald Reagan twice, for George H.W. Bush twice and George W Bush twice. However, this will probably be my last post.
Horror of horrors - I am a Rudy fan. There, I've said it.
I can't believe the hostility and moral superiority being thrown at Giuliani supporters. I resent being labeled a liberal because I like a man who may not fit 100% into the preordained "Conservative" box.
It is my understanding that Nancy Reagan, Barbara Bush and Laura Bush were all secretly (or not) supportive of abortion rights. Its entirely possible that their husbands may have run on a pro-life platform because that's what their constituancy wanted and not because of what they truly believed. Whether or not they were really pro-life is moot because none of them did anything toward reversing Roe vs Wade while in office anyway. As a previous poster noted, Ronald Reagan supported the Brady Bill. Ronald Reagan is clearly the best president in my lifetime and, although saying that he had imperfections will surely cause some of the more rabid Conserva-nazis on this site to have the vapors - Reagan was not perfect.

We need a strong president that is not afraid to take on the press, the Euro-wussies and the Islamic Radicals. I believe Rudy is that person. If you don't like him, then fine; support your candidate of choice. The hysterical moral chest-beating on this site has become unbearable - and it seems to be coming from a "select" group of about 15 serial posters. The ugly attacks are pathetic. Have a nice next two years with your tunnel vision attitude.

I am still looking for it - I read a lot of threads yesterday, didn't post in many of them, but it basically derided those who thought abortion and guns were the important issues.

Most posters I've come across are wholly against abortion and totally for guns. Neither issue will be at the top of the list of important issues when election night rolls around. This election will be decided on the War On Terror.

When you are a Hight Priest of Conservative Purety, sometimes you need to use terms like "queer" in order to make your point that much more powerful...

I'm not.

I've seen enought of "conservative" here to want nothing to do with it. Certainly not to be a High Priest.

I'm a Republican, cept when the Dems run pro-life, pro-gun candidates against pro-choice, gungrabbing Republicans, in which case I vote Dem
