"Gun Owners Irked By Newspaper Database Ploy"
By Fred Lucas
CNSNews.com Staff Writer
March 13, 2007
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "(CNSNews.com) - Virginia handgun owners are fired up over the publication of their names and addresses in a database posted online by a state newspaper.
The database of every Virginia resident who holds a state-issued permit to carry a concealed handgun was posted on the Roanoke Times' website Sunday to accompany a column in the paper by Times editorial writer Christian Trejbal.
"There are good reasons the records are open to public scrutiny," Trejbal wrote. "People might like to know if their neighbors carry. Parents might like to know if a member of the car pool has a pistol in the glove box. Employees might like to know if employers are bringing weapons to the office."
However, gun owners contend such public scrutiny could pose a risk to gun owners and non-gun owners across the state.
"I've talked to federal agents who have testified against criminals, and police who have permits, that now have their home address posted on the Internet," Philip Van Cleave, president of the Virginia Citizens Defense League, told Cybercast News Service. "What if a stalker wants to cross check if his victim has a permit?""
Let's take another look here on a different take of an incident we have already posted on.

Morocco: Suicide bomber strikes internet cafe
RICK: Sam, if it's December 1941 in Casablanca, what time is it in New York?
SAM: Uh, my watch stopped.
RICK: I bet they're asleep in New York. I'll bet they're asleep all over America.
"Suicide bomber strikes internet cafe," from AFP, with thanks to JE:
A suicide bomber blew himself up, wounding up to three other people, after being prohibited from consulting radical websites at a Casablanca Internet cafe, Moroccan officials and police said today.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack yesterday evening, in which the bomber was killed.
Two people entered the Internet cafe in the Casablanca suburb of Sidi Moumen and tried to access radical websites, but were prohibited from doing so by the son of the cafe's owner, police said.
"One of the two individuals was then blown apart by explosives hidden under his clothes and died on the spot," said a police official.

"Concern for missing BBC reporter"
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The BBC says it is concerned for the safety of a correspondent who has gone missing in the Gaza Strip.
The corporation said it had been unable to contact Alan Johnston, but did not comment on Palestinian reports that he had been kidnapped.
Johnston's car was found abandoned in Gaza City shortly after he left his office to drive home.
Several journalists and aid workers have recently been kidnapped in Gaza. All have been released unharmed.
Johnston, 44, has been the BBC's correspondent in the Gaza Strip for the past three years - and the only foreign journalist from a major media organisation based in Gaza.
"We are currently unable to contact him and are concerned for his safety," the BBC said in a statement.
"We are trying to gather as much information as possible."
Details of what happened are sketchy. Palestinian police said four gunmen were seen in the vicinity of where Johnston's car was found."

Suspected of helping fund training camp in Afghanistan, Spanish officials say

A British Columbia man under arrest in Spain is caught up in an alleged international terrorist ring that could land him in U.S. court.
Brian David Anderson, 61, is wanted by U.S. authorities for fraud and is believed to have helped finance a training camp in Afghanistan, Spain's Interior Ministry said in a statement. He was arrested in a Madrid hotel in collaboration with the FBI, the ministry said.
Spanish officials said Anderson is thought to be linked to New York businessman Abdul Tawala Ibn Ali Alishtari, 53, who was charged last month with terrorism financing, material support of terrorism and money laundering. Alishtari has pleaded not guilty in U.S. District Court in Manhattan........[continue]

Lots of lists. . .
" . . . The first question is: Who gave the killers the right to appoint judges to interfere in the affairs of Muslims? By what right the Security Council interferes in the affairs of Muslims and forms courts, which acquit this and convict that, while the hands of their criminals are stained with Muslims' blood in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Algeria, Chechnya, and East Turkestan? . . . The second question is: If you want to try those who term criminals in Darfur, who will try the criminals in Bosnia, Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Chechnya, Kashmir, Indonesia, Philippines, and East Turkestan?
. . . Jihad is the individual duty of the entire Islamic nation and the entire Islamic nation is sinful because it has not liberated Andalusia, Bukhara, Palestine, and Afghanistan. . . . They should continue their jihad for the sake of God until every Muslim land invaded by the infidels, from Andalusia to Iraq, is liberated, and until the word of God has the upper hand and the caliphate is restored to protect Islam and spread its way.
. . . the armies of the Crusaders and Jews are desecrating our land in Chechnya, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, and Somalia. . . . O Muslim brothers in the fields of jihad, in Algeria, Somalia, Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, and everywhere, confront -- by holding tightly to your faith and to your resolve and steadfastness -- the Zionist-Crusader plot, which is reeling, with the power of God, under your blows. And rejoice at the statement of the Prophet, may peace be upon him: A party from nation will continue to fight for the truth and victorious until the Day of Judgment."

3 Rochester Men Arrested in F.B.I. Terror Sting to Send $ Overseas
Posted by: Sally Durwald, Producer

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) -- Three Yemeni businessmen in Rochester have been charged with sending 200-thousand dollars overseas in the belief that it would go to an Islamic terrorist group.
The three men (Yehia Ali Ahmed Alomari, 26; Mohamed Al Huraibi, 49; and Saleh Mohamed Taher Saeed, 27) appeared before a federal magistrate Monday after being charged with conspiring to launder money and laundering monetary instruments.
Federal authorities say the men willingly sent the money after being told by an undercover agent that the funds would help Hezbollah. The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports that the money actually was sent to accounts controlled by the federal
government.
Federal officials say the sting was set up after one of the small business owners sent more than 12 (m) million dollars overseas during a two-year period.
A lawyer for one of the accused said his client believed he was helping send money to relatives in Yemen.

...and it goes on and on and on. The enemies within. We let them walk in the front door.
That's why I'm backing Rudy Giuliani. He will be tough on terrorism and terrorists, both foreign and homegrown.
OPINION: The jihadis have had a long-time interest fascination with NY and with Wall Street. But something we have been posting for years on TM specifically and FR in general, is information on the jihadis using the internet and internet cafes. There is a correlation between the virtual global jihad and real, hands-on terrorists doing their evil thing global jihad.
