Walter Reed FReep Week 97 -- Almost Missed the Bus!
Washington, DC, February 23, 2007 -- Comrade Bruce doesn't like being left out of the spotlight. Poor guy, saw a camera truck and went nuts!
Around 7pm, a NBC crew was finishing up a story about Building 18 (the Barracks) on Georgia Avenue. TFroatz was standing by and asked the on-air talent "What's up?" They exchanged a few words, shook hands and parted ways. Bruce was across the street at the designated anti-America "vigil" station watching the brief scene play out. When the NBC guys headed back to their truck, Bruce called out "Hey, what about me? You have to interview me, too!"
What? "How can you be fair if you only get one side? I question your journalistic integrity!!!!!" No kidding... Bruce was most upset at not being "interviewed". Aaawwwwww!

Lucky for him, Tantor stepped up and let the poor commie babble to his heart's content. |
Citizen SMASH tried to interview the whole bunch of Pinkos, but they didn't want to talk to him. Here's the audio of the exchange. |
SMASH: Can I ask you guys a question? WOMAN: Yeah, sure. SMASH: Can any of you name three soldiers being treated at this hospital? The woman muttered something nonsensical about "breach of confidentiality." I turned to Bruce Wolf, the leader of the group. SMASH: Three? SMASH: Two? SMASH: Can you name one? BRUCE: And yet, they're all my brothers and sisters. True to form, he said this with his back turned to me. SMASH: But you support them, right? BRUCE: That's why we're out here. SMASH: Well, thanks for your support, anyway. |
Did I mention that it was cold? Really, really cold? And windy?
The bus filled with wounded warriors and family came back from the weekly Fran O'Brien's dinner very late. We had just given up hope of ever seeing it and started to tear down when it finally came. I didn't get a shot of the bus, so here's RandolfS, Danielle*, Tom the Redhunter and Fraxinus instead.
The whole list of FReepers & FRiends in attendance last Friday (If I missed anyone - please let me know!): 2ndClassCitizen, Bill from MD*, Cindy-True-Supporter, Citizen SMASH, Danielle*, Fraxinus, George & Ethel*, GunsAreOK, Jimmy Valentine's Brother, Just A Nobody, Kristinn, PleaDeal, RandolfS, Sensei Ern, Tantor, TFroatz, tgslTakoma, Tom the Redhunter, Trooprally [Mr. & Mrs], VAFlagWaver.
There's only one set of pics this week and the collection can be viewed here.
We'll be back out at Walter Reed Friday night, March 2nd, from 6:30 until at least 9:30 at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Elder Street, NW in Washington, D.C.
The wounded warriors inside the hospital are heartened by the sight of ordinary citizens cheering for them and displaying our thanks for the service and sacrifice they've made on our behalf.
A couple hours this Friday night is very little to give compared to what they've contributed!
If you can't get to D.C. to join us but would like to do something for the wounded, you can find a wealth of ideas by FReepmailing Albion Wilde, Cindy-True-Supporter, VAFlagwaver or PleaDeal.
Keeping the BIG LIST: All DC Chapter Walter Reed FReeps - c/o BufordP.
It's mutual!
Thank you all.
No, Bruce is a "useful idiot" as they say, useful for spreading lies. Code Pinko rescheduled their "vigil" from a period of 8 PM to 10 pm, to 7 PM to 9 PM, so that they would have to see the dinner bus return and have the occupants show their supporters that the troops do not appreciate Code Pinko's protest.
And then Bruuce the lying bastard from OPEIU, LOCAL 2 of the AFL-KGB writes that now the Army is hiding the dinner bus too.
He's a paraody of the 50's and 60's Soviet propogandist. Bet if we asked who invented baseball, he'll claim it was a Soviet sport first.
Thank you all for your dedication to our troops!
I hope you are feeling better.
You guys are awesome.
That is a really KEWL graphic!!!
Thank you, Sir. I modified the original DC Chapter logo a few years back, darkened the ring and added the flag to the formerly blank background and updated the Iwo Jima image.
Great seal - did you do that?
Thanks, JVB. I modified the original chapter logo.
Thanks so much for standing in the gap! I'm proud to know you all!
God bless our troops!!
You'll thaw by spring, which may come early for those of you going to the Gathering. A rise in blood pressure gets the thaw to kick in!
But, seriously...Thanks for sticking in there!
BTW, what do the troops that you've talked to, say about the conditions at WR?
Can't wait to have you back, AfromT!
As for what the troops feel about WR and the Compost reports, they all say 'it ain't that bad!'. Lots of wounded warriors came out Friday (3/2). BufordP will have the details in the AAR soon.
