From Code Pink's calendar for March 17th:
Saturday, March 17:
11:00 am - Join CODEPINK for a Women's Convergence for the March on the Pentagon
Join tens of thousands of people from around the country to march from the Mall to the Pentagon in a mass demonstration to demand: U.S. Out of Iraq Now! 2007 is the 40th anniversary of the historic 1967 anti-war march to the Pentagon during the Vietnam War.
Location: SW corner of 17th and Constitution NW, next to WWII Memorial and the Pond. We will join the March on the Pentagon Rally at 21st and Constitution at noon.
Code Pink is the marxist group whose "women's convergence" gathered at the US Navy Memorial on January 27, 2007 for a pre-rally rally with Jane Fonda as their star speaker. While at the Navy Memorial, Code Pink's "women" dressed the Lone Sailor statue in Code Pink garb:
So, it's not necessary for me to remind everybody reading this forum that it is very important that we have a huge turnout on our side so that all of our war memorials can be guarded by watchful eagles on March 17th.
Keep spreading the word among your friends and fellow patriots. We need everybody who can get to DC for March 17th to be there with us.
Note: I have cross-posted this message at both of the Gathering of Eagles forums and Free Republic.
BUMP. THANKS for all you do !!!
That picture makes me livid. I have never seen that one before. Man, do I wish we could be there.
It just never stops. We will be there.
I wish I could be there in D.C. I will have my handy ball bat with me. LoL
In 2004 I attended the First Marine Division reunion in D.C. The World War II Memorial was brand new then. I had the honor of visiting the Memorial with two World War II vets. That was in August and the Memorial was crowded with dignified old vets and their families. It was very uplifting.
I can't imagine this national treasure swarming with geriatric bull dikes and their freaky followers.
I'll be there!
As a now inactive U.S. Navy sailor all I can say is we need to take some Dungaree Liberty and visit these idiots in progress.
Re-living the 60's......sheesh. I can't say what I'm thinking......actually, it's time for me to go ask God for forgiveness!
Look I have no problem with people protesting...BUT LEAVE THE D@MN MONUMENTS AND MEMORIALS ALONE!!!
I will be there for the GOE!
Some sort of statue???????????? Listen Bozo, that is The Statue honoring all sailors who have given their lives at sea for our freedom. If you ever get to Washington DC, it's located on Pennsylvania Avenue a few block west of the Capital building and stands on a map of the world that is imprinted into the plaza.
Some sort of statue???????????? Listen Bozo
YOU! LEARN TO READ, BOZO - "some sort of hat" NOT some sort of statue.
We'll be there.
Sorry WhiteGuy...YOU better get your eyes checked.
Hmmmm. Alert the authorities --- yeah, that's the ticket.
The authorities were probably watching whjile they put that pink hat on the statue in the first place.
Were you not aware of what this same group did to the steps of the US Capitol just recently?
It is not a stretch.
In the same way that I feel there should be no demonstrations outside Walter Reed (The DC Freepers do a magnificent job OUT OF NECESSITY of counterdemonstrating in a positive way to offset the filthy Code Pinkos who began demonstrating out there) I feel there should be no demonstrations at the War Memorials and at Arlington.
My father is a 30 year Naval Veteran buried at Arlington. His dignity is safe there, they are not allowed to go in there. If his name were on the Wall, I would feel just as strongly.
And their "decoration" of the Navy Memorial is a slap in the face of sailors who have given their lives in the defense of their country.
The leftists want to deconstruct everything from our moral compass to our icons. I am not going to sit back and just let them do what they want without a fight. I listened to what these VERY SAME PEOPLE said about our military personnel back in the sixties and seventies, and I vowed if this situation ever came about again, I was not going to just sit there and let them be the lone voice.
So, no. It is NOT a stretch.
So, Will they bump into the St. Patrick's Day paraders??
In January 2001, protesters scaled the mast at the US Navy Memorial, pulling down the flags and hoisting the black anarchist flag. The US flag was wrestled out of the radicals' hands, by a patriotic bystander. Police had until that point just stood by as the vandalism of the memorial occurred.
In January 2007, protesters dressed the Lone Sailor in Code Pink garb and hung pink garments all over the trees and other objects at the US Navy Memorial. US Park police did not stop the actions of the protesters; they were not in the memorial, but standing on the periphery. If the protesters had paint, or a sledge hammer, worse actions could have occurred before any US Park police could have gotten to them.
In January 2007, radicals in the protest crowd swarmed the few US Capitol police officers standing guard at the Capitol steps. Police were ordered by their superiors to allow the radicals to take the steps, where the radicals then spray painted anti-US messages on those steps.
In January 2007, radical protesters swarmed the few DC police officers stationed at the Armed Forces Recruiting Center on L Street in downtown DC, and one of them (at least) hurled an object at the window, breaking it. DC Police did not arrest anyone.
The "anti-war" protesters are animals of opportunity. There will not be enough police officers anywhere in DC on March 17th to stop every act of vandalism and property destruction that the radicals wish to perpetrate that day. It's time for the rest of us to step up and do our part to assure that our memorials are safe and secure that day.
