A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

I do remember. The other name (not my hubby) leaves today. Could you say an extra prayer for him, please.

Yes, I know that the pic is not of the furry kind, but it's still "warm & fuzzy" me thinks. It is a warm graphic and think I see some fuzzy rabbits at their feet. :)

Good afternoon, Sistah A! Thank you for posting our WFW this week; think I'll visit the Finest Sauna in a bit. :)
My little warm fuzzy Roscoe wasn't smelling too sweet last night, after an encounter with a skunk. This makes 4 times altogether (if I were counting), that he's decided to argue with a fuzzy black thing with a white stripe down it's back.
When MrB came in after their evening walk, I almost gagged! There was no doubt Roscoe had gotten sprayed - even though he closed him in the garage so he could come in and get the bubble bath started! And just so you know, that dog HATES water - hates to even get his feet wet, so imagine how much fun it is to get him in the bathtub....I swear he has more than 4 legs, and they're all climbing a different direction than where we're trying to put him. Plus he STINKS! BAD!
I know that tomato juice is supposed to get rid of the skunk smell, but experience has shown us that my sweet-smelling bubble bath does a good job, and 'sides, who wants to clean tomato juice off the dog in addition to the skunk!
Sigh! Has anyone ever used Carpet Fresh on the garage floor? And used up a can of air freshner? In a garage? The smell is almost gone today.

I've never been there or done that and have often wondered, does the smell bother the dog?

Thanks. Guess I could have reminded everyone to wear their bathing suit today but probably don't need to remind this crowd.

It does, LadyJ - it's pretty upsetting to the dog. They to to rub the smell off - rub their eyes and face a lot. As much as Roscoe hates water, he hates having that smell he can't get rid of even more.
After he's bathed and dried off, he's fine, but it's stressful.

(((Roscoe))) As you may remember Daisy Mae got sprayed one time a few years back and it was horrible! Now everytime I let her out at night I remind her to watch out for skunks (and bears, coyotes, etc...)
Seems like I've heard apple cider vinegar and water will take the smell out...not sure though, need to get back to you on that.

Sounds about right. We got a formula that includes hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap. But honestly the bubble bath really does do a good job.
